Here in Madison all our firefighter are volunteers.
They put their lives on the line for strangers and don't get paid one measly dime.

I went with large capacity HDs. You can use 'em as externals (USB) and move them from one computer to another.
What's a camera for? To take pictures, right? Looks like you know how to use it to me.
Then comes all the finer points - exposure, focus, depth of field, ISO and all the estorics that fill forums and just might lead to learnig how to make better photos under different conditions.
My way of learning is, "What happens if I do this ?', or "What does this thing do? Digital is a lot cheaper to experiment with than film.
