Why?

I was trying to produce a photo that projected a mood. It is not for everybody, but for me it works.

Nice one, Rogers. Love Yellowstone in the snow.

I have been there in all seasons except spring. Winter is the most beautiful.

He is not supposed to be up there. They wouldn't let me go.

The rules have evolved as the crowds have increased. When I first went there, I could climb anything that I wanted to climb. The entry fee was 1$. Except for this year, the site has averaged 3,000 visitors per day for the past 15 years. Because the traffic on the pyramid is waring away the limestone, it is now off limits. If you are willing to pay a few hundred dollars, you can get in early and climb. The latter is not official, but money works.

Nice shot of a supremely intelligent creature. The community college where I taught for 31 years was bordered by a forest preserve. I used to see a dog sitting on the side of the road until my brain corrected me: "Coyote!" They'd always check the traffic before crossing and then wait on the median, checking the other side. Their adaptation to us is really impressive. It has been reported that coyote populations all around the Chicago area have risen exponentially in recent years.

Thanks for the comments. This coyote had as pretty a winter coat as I have seen. They have dens in our town, population about 100,000.
