He's gorgeous but I'd be freaking out with him coming down to visit me with out the guard of a fence between us. I love the first picture you got such a great angle. Good work!

Biker Chic, that is a fantastic butterfly photo.

Thank You  It's hard because by the time I get focused on it then it flys away... I can just see myself running around chasing it with my camera pressed up on my face...

Many people I know and meet here and there tell me there is nothing interesting or beautiful about the desert. I just returned from two days in Joshua Tree National Park. In the two days, I shot a few hundred images. I could have shot more, but I love to explore the desert as well as capture images. I find the desert is a wonderland of textures, shapes, colors, form, design, and it is all painted with a vast array of changing light temperatures. I hope I never lose the rose-colored glasses I wear. My life would not be half as enjoyable if i were to view the world through someone else's eyes. Enjoy.

I just returned home this evening. I got to look at 25 subjects from the images so far. Here is what I have retrieved from them.

Wow very nice! I haven't been to Joshua Tree in years. Thank You for such beautiful shots.

You know in answer to your comment about how so many people can't see the beauty of the desert. Sadly for them... they just can't "See" because there is beauty everywhere, regardless of where you are...IF you have the thing that... You, I, and everyone else here has, the thing that pulls at you and makes you pick up that camera and take photos. For me it's almost an obsession, If I see something I want to take pictures of I can't stop thinking of it till I do.

I too am glad I was born with a pair of Rose Colored Glasses!

The translucence in the wings is beguiling.

As for the weather, I'm jealous.

Thank You 8-) I would be glad to give you some of our weather if I could, we need the snow here. We are going to face one of the worst fire seasons in a long time.

I'm sorry to all of you who are experiencing some of the worst winter weather ever but in our area my plum tree is beginning to bloom and the bee's and butterfly's were out working yesterday.

Wow - great introspective work. As I approach #68 still feeling like I'm 40 (mentally anyway) it hit really close to home.

Thanks for a thought provoking link!!!

Me too I had my milestone 50 this year but I still feel 30

Wow how interesting, without ever seeing this site those are the images I carried for years in my mind. I guess because I'm getting older and my mom is in her 80s things like that begin to cross one's mind. Thanks for sharing

One of the horses we had was registered with the 1/2 Arab association. He was the best ride, smartest, and had the most personality of all. Our others were a Thoroughbred and a Quarter Horse Paint. They are such beautiful horses ours use to open his pen and just walk around the yard, he would get into the garbage and pull the bags out and if you weren't paying attention he would sneak up on you and drink your coffee. Great set of photos!
