I've visited "The Rock" and thought that place was erie and spooky. These images send chills down one's spine. Looks like a place I wouldn't want to be.

Kudos to Canon.

Did I read this right? Nikonian are you coming around? After the oxymoron jab, I almost fell off my chair when I saw this one.

Well, it doesn't seem to be the wind. Water is too smooth. Did someone yell "Duck" to the goose? Or did it have an itch to scratch. Nice shot you don't see this pose everyday.

If the "old" Canon was of the EOS series you might consider staying with Canon and can still use any other lenses you might have from it's glory days.

Erv, very nice. The sunrays simply make the shots. Did you have to do anything special in camera or PP. Use any filters or something. I've never seen such shots with rays like that.

The horse picture was taken off a Kodak disk from walmart (need I say more!) Film processing is a pain when computers are so much easier. Thanks for your input.

The photo may have been much better if WalMart didn't compress the life out of the images they put on disk. I had some done there, an average of 275 kilobytes for an image. That doesn't leave very much information in the file.

I'm with those who say banked railbed. Look at the tree in the far background it looks like it is growing staight up as it should be. I also find the background light adds something of an interest around that curve.

Photo Guy, you gotta stop burning buildings just so you can take pictures. They will catch you sooner or later. LOL
Nice work, play safe .

True, and if I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry this is a place for learning and improving and getting critiques from those with a bit more experience and willing to share. If it becomes a place for little girls to show their toy..............well you see what I mean. .

Kaerynn, do you have any friends? With that kind of attitude I would think not. Hobo and Drifter give us all an incentive to take photos of various site and activities in our areas. We can then share with other UHH members. Yeah sure we don't need a stuffed toy to do that but it's kinda fun to share this little guy around. You don't have too play with us if you don't want to.

Great photos but it looks like you need a bigger camera for that shark. He's bustin' out of the frame.

Well I look at all the posts here and have to think I was a late starter. My very own first camera was a Canon EOS 650 purchased used. I got an EF 50mm F 1.8 II to go with it. I shot photos and slides using borrowed cameras up until that point. I was 37 at the time. The company I was working for was sending me on a business trip to Hawaii where I would spend two months before returning home. I was NOT going on a once in a lifetime trip without a camera. While I was there I bought an EF 75-300mm F4.0-5.6 USM lens to use with it. I have since added more lenses and accessories to my collection. Now I am looking at biting the bullet and going digital.

Had I stumbled across a scene such as this I would have blown it. I likely would have been so amazed I would have left my camera hanging by the stap. Nice job littlebiddle!

Loons are great birds. I fully enjoy falling asleep in my tent in the wilds, while listening to them call out on the lake.
