I got my first Nikon F with the Photomic FTN metering head in 1969 and used it for 10 years, then traded in ALL the Nikon gear & lenses to buy a Pentax 6x7 which I still have and use. Over the years I acquired and got rid of various 35mm SLRs to use as backups. Most notable was an Olympus OM-2 and OM-10 (as backup). About 10 years ago I bought another F/FTN on eBay but the meter head was dead. Got a CLA on the camera and bought a pentaprism head and some lenses, used it for a while but with my D5000 DSLR I didn't need another film camera other than the big Pentax so I sold the F to KEH. Sold off most of the Olympus gear also. 2-3 years ago I picked up a Nikon FE (with motor drive) in an auction lot that went for a total of $40!! Today I use the FE, the 6x7, and have upgraded the DSLR to a D7100. BTW the new Nikkor 10-20 zoom (15-30 full frame equivalent) is fabulously sharp and extraordinarily free of distortion for a near fish-eye focal length lens. And a bargain at just over $300. Right now I have Velvia 100 in the FE, Ilford Pan F (need bright light AND my tripod) in the big Pentax, and am anticipating Kodak UK's promised reintroduction of Ektachrome this fall.

Sorry for the overlong reply.

The most venerable of many: The Nikon F (with or without the Photomic FTN meter head).
