They are times when stuff is free...free samples is one of them. The problem with this one is they use two different sets of rules, and scam people by offering a free months sample then charging early before people have a chance to stop. They play mostly on women, who use cosmetics to make them look younger, or have better skin. And some spend a lot more than 97 a month.

Yes, I agree, there are the occasional free samples, but that is part of their advertising strategy. As soon as they ask for a credit card number, free goes out the window.
As for $97 a month for cosmetics, if someone is paying more than that per month for cosmetics and this company's products are as good or better than those purchased in a store, then why not, it sounds worth it to me. But I don't know much about cosmetics, my wife, thankfully, doesn't need or use a lot of the stuff.

Did you leave him the lens?
You watch, Canon will come out costing the same and the repair guy will be one job closer to shutting his doors!!

Actually, his business is doing quite well. He could have repaired my lens and charged me the full price and I would not have been the wiser. Instead he called me to let me know that Canon will fix it for less than he can. After he disassembled the lens to determine what parts it needed, he contacted Canon repair and told them what is wrong with the lens and got prices for the parts and also got a repair cost quote and Canon will repair the lens for $100 less than he would have charged. Something about if Canon does the repair there's no mark up on parts. I have done business with this shop several times in the past and they have always done good work for a fair price.

I went to the repair shop today to pick up my ill Canon EF 28-300L lens. The owner of the shop told me he could fix it but, due to the complexity of the lens and the cost of the parts it will need, it will cost me at least $100 less if I send it to Canon. That's what I call an honest business man.

Indeed a nice day for a walk in the park. The hairy (I think it's a hairy, it's bill look all large as its head but, could be a downy) shot is too bright on the left side, detracting from the overall photo, but still nice. The rest are very nice, especially the bee.

Why do folks believe you can get something for nothing?! The marketers put the bait on the hook and hope for an opertunity to pull the line and set the hook.
I love the low monthly fee of $97. What a crock...

The only real advantage I see the current generation of mirrorless cameras have over DSLR'S, other than physical body size is, an electronic view finder. Other than that, they recorded images basically the same way. Light comes in through a lens and is transferred from the image sensor through an on board central processor to storage media. Some DSLR'S may have larger image sensors than mirrorless but, other than the lack of a pentaprism or pentamirror and it's housing, they're function is quite similar. Like a top end bridge camera with interchangeable lenses.

Welcome to the UHH. First, there is no such thing as a 7D Mark 1. There's the EOS 7D and the EOS 7D Mark II. Many folks refer to the 1st generation of a model series as Mark 1 but there is no Mark 1; nowhere on the camera or lens is there a reference to Mark 1, nowhere in the document is there a reference to Mark 1. It's kind of like the Pope. The current Pope is Pope Francis. He is the first Pope who chose the name Francis. He's not Pope Francis the first or Pope Francis I, just simply Pope Francis. The next person who chooses the name Francis will be Francis II.
Second, there is no EFS size sensor. EF-S is a Canon lens mount that will only work on crop sensor bodies; it's the lenses with the white dot.
A great way to learn digital photography is, pick up a few good educational books on the subject. Get one on exposure, Brian Peterson - Understanding Exposure, 4th edition, is a good book. Scott Kelby has an excellent series of books for beginners about digital photography. They are very easy to read and follow and very informative. Tony and Chelsea Northrup have a few really good books on digital photography and gear; also good reading. Then there's YouTube; there are thousands of good digital photography tutorials on YouTube. There are even more that are crap but, the good ones are worth watching and learning from. Also, practice, practice, practice...

Logically, since you have the 18-55, you would go for the 55-300, and it costs much less and is smaller than the 70-300. The 70-300 is larger, heavier, more expensive and a better lens. I use the 28-300.
