I have two of the RR bridge at Beaver, Arkansas, (on Table Rock Lake) as 8x10's on my office wall, one of a spider web with the 'castle' in the background .
Be sure to visit Table Rock at the town of Beaver, just to the northwest of Eureka Springs... Yes, Table Rock Lake dips down into Arkansas, with some spectacular photo op's particularly of the one lane bridge and the abandoned railroad! And be sure to walk the trail at the edge of the loooong yellow, one lane bridge in spring, when the redbud's are in bloom! I have some neat photos of these! Eureka Springs is a photo op just about at every turn. And Thorncrown Chapel, and War Eagle.

In Murdo, SD is an interesting museum of OLD and of interesting autos.

while in that area, is the Crazy Horse memorial and Custer State Park. and Spearfish Canyon, in western SD. The drive from Custer State Park to Mt. Rushmore includes 3 tunnels, thru which you see Mt. Rushmore, framed by the tunnels!
In ND is the Theodore Roosevelt NP And in SD is the Badlands NP.
I would take it to a Jeweler-Gemologist for evaluation. It being a ring, it should show a lot more wear if it were glass... It does not show any wear on the facets. A lot of "Jeweler's", have absolutely no training!
I rarely facet now... sorry about the amethyst. I get my best rough from Rocksaholics, they have some museum quality down to ordinary mineral specimens, faceted and facet rough. They are Pakistan natives and American citizens now. They go to the Tucson, Az. rock show in February, and a few other rock shows as well. They have some amazing rocks!
The top one does a much better job of showing the kunzite color. I have faceted a pink kunzite, they can be a PAIN! But turn out beautiful!!! I would refuse to facet such a beautiful specimen on matrix, also...
Go get a piece of facet grade rough with no matrix, and no inclusions. Inclusions in kunzite cause a lot of headache when faceting.
I agree, Lake McDonald is extremely beautiful. Here are 3 more of my picts. I was lucky, but had only 4 hours to cross both ways (50 each way) before closing for the season! Still got some spectacular shots...
We got to Glacier N.P. the LAST day it was open all of the way across and found it to be just as spectacular as I hoped! Whew, I took several (?) I think are interesting...
Lets see what you have got!
