Yes I have been to Chengdu 2 times and like it very much as well as Shanghai but I'm not a fan of Beijing. Shanghai is my favorite large city and I've been there twice. The places I found to be the ones I enjoy most and have taken the best photographs are Guilin, Yangshuo, Xingping all in the same area and then there is Yellow Mountain but I think it would be best to stay there for maybe 3 days. The fog sets in and also the rain but it's a beautiful site to see. They say that are 5 mountain ranges in China but if you see Yellow Mountain you don't need to see the others. I will say that there is a lot of climbing to do when you go to Yellow Mountain so put your best trail shoes on and get your legs in shape because you'll need it.

Thanks and I'll take your device. How did you like Chia?? I have been to Guilin and the Yangshuo area 6 times and of all the cities I've been to in China that is by far my favorite. If you ever go back I can give you the name of an excellent photographer tin Yangshuo and he also has a web site if you'd care for it.

Thank everyone so much for all the information. I will be needing this shortly as I have plans to travel over seas again. I appreciate all the good advice and yes United was the airline I was first on as well as the last coming into Chicago.

The batteries I had for my Nikon had covers for them and the AA and AAA were in the package they came in and all were taken from the Pelican case that I had checked. They took the batters for my Nikon at the airport in Beijing, China and then the extra Nikon battery I purchased in China was taken in Chicago along with all the AA and AAA.

Since the TSA doesn't allow Lithium batteries on airliners how can I have them when I get to where I'm going??? Two different times the TSA has taken 3 extra Nikon Batters as well as all my AA and AAA Lithium Batteries. Why is it they can let computers having Lithium Batteries go through yet the take any additional batters you may have?? I have contacted TSA several times and so far have never received a straight answer as to the reason they aren't allowed. Does anyone have an answer??
Thanks, David
