Thanks but I think I'll go for glass instead

Does this mean you only want the lens or going to find a lens elsewhere?

I would take PayPal, which would give you a level of buyer protection.

My PayPal address is: cdautorestoration@hotmail.com

I will ship the camera and insure it at my expense. Let me know your shipping address.
Thanks, Charlie

Are you the original owner of the 5D mark3 and the lens? How long have you owned it?

I am the original owner and I believe I bought it 3 years ago. I also have a polarizer filter and lens hood, camera strap and a Non Canon dual battery grip I've never used.

The camera is in excellent condition and has been very reliable. Camera has both 16Gig SD and Compact Flash 32Gig cards. I'm selling only because I want to upgrade my astrophotography equipment and the funds from this goes directly into that hobby. I've checked some used prices on this and I'm asking $1400 for the camera. It includes a Canon battery and Canon charger. Thanks for looking, Charlie

The serial number indicates a 1959 model. A very nice M3 with the dual range 50mm f2 Summicron lens. There is a Kodak filter holder to protect the lens. The lens is in very good to excellent condition. The camera functions properly and is in very good to excellent condition with only one small cosmetic ding on top of back, just under the single stroke film advance lever. I would love to get back into film photography, but I need to raise money for a more accurate telescope mount to help me improve my astrophotography pursuits. Im pricing this at $800 realizing it isn't flawless, but it isn't a parts only or junk camera. I will include shipping and insurance to the lower 48 US states. This is the first item I've offered anything on UHH, but I have sold many astro related items on one of the most popular astronomy sites, and have very good ratings. If interested I'll give you info on that in emails. Thanks for your time, Charlie

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I found out, it harder to shot these birds than one thinks. The branches always moving and changing focus.

These little guys were about the size of a large ant when i first noticed them. I wasn't sure if they were even alive. We watched them get bigger over the past 3 weeks and yesterday while i was trying to get one more shot, they took to the air and freedom from the silver dollar size nest.

Photography is quickly becoming an E mail with or without words.
Images posted straight from the camera in order to satisfy peoples need to share their daily lives - where they have been, what they saw at 7 am, 9 am etc or 'look ma...I have just learned to do this with my camera from Youtube'

This is a totally different aspect of photography than what 'Photography' was a decade ago.

We have had 'Photography as Art' as a separate Genre for donkey's years. That, however relies upon a certain skill set beyond 'snap shot'. It has its own set of rules and affectionardo's

Without trying to be elitist ...'Photography' has always relied upon a lot of learned skills and a shared understanding of 'quality'. It has a breadth of subjects and means.

What do we now call the skilled image maker who creates 'a photograph': not a statement.?

Just curious....

Hi
I have been reading these post for quite a while and have picked up some really good tips. We plan on renting a place for a week in August near Jackson and could really use some recommendations for best places to photograph. Things not to miss. I'm currently using an Omd-Em1 with more then enough lenses.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Francis

If you are there August 21, you need to take in the Total Solar Eclipse which will pass directly over that area. It will be quite an event as it is the first one the US has had since 1979 I believe. I will be work camping in Victor, (25 miles over Teton Pass) and we are hosting many astronomers with telescopes. You don't need a scope as most people who have one will be willing to share. You can't be in a better place for this event than in the Teton area.

At night your camera should be on a tripod. Setting are still manual. prefocus the area you want to cover at infinity. Shutter is set to bulb. F11 still best. Use a remote trigger and then it is quess work as to exposure time. Usually around 30 seconds in an area, such as a city with lights. Longer in a remote area, but you can use a digital light to paint surrounding areas. Then it is up tothe lighting to do it's thing and expect many nithing shots. If you are serious about it the two best areas in the country are Tucon, AZ during monsoon season and Tampa/St Pete, which is considered thre #1 spot in the country. But be careful because in areas like that there are multiple strikes all over the place.A basic rule is that if the thunder is under 30 seconds fromthe flash - you are to close. The shot I really want is a bolt at Ship Rock. Will require timing and a lot of waiting.
