The second black and white is awesome, Brent. I like the color too but black and white has always been my passion. Nice conversion.

Nice job on both of them, Brent. The second one is my favorite and worthy of wall space. May make an outstanding b&w as well. Thanks for posting.

Good pics. Unless there was a lot of cropping, noticed that Adams apparently didn't think much of/about the rule of thirds.

Rule-of-thirds rarely applies with this type of documentary photography.

Looking for a new camera bag that will hold flash, digital body and about 3 lenses trying get to decide between a backpack or a regular do ke canvas bag. What do you guys think.

I have a Domke canvas shoulder bag that is 40 years old, still in perfect condition and will most likely outlive me. It will hold a body, 3 lenses and flash as well as other necessities.
I also use a couple Lowepro backpacks. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. I think the Domke is more convenient to work from but the backpack is better for hiking. The Domke shoulder bag is a better choice if you work a lot from your car.

A7II is A mount so my canon lens won't work but they will work on A6000?

The A7MkII is not A-mount.....it is E/FE mount.

Australia?? You have obviously never been to Australia....a great country with great people. How about sending all the felons to Kentucky and they can coexist in your neighborhood.

I purchased the A7r, the FE24-70 f4 and the FE70-200 f4 lenses about a year ago and I am very happy with the system. I have been a Canon shooter since the early 70's and still very happy with Canon but wanted FF, high resolution and smaller and lighter. I drove myself nuts reading all the reviews on the body and lenses so I was familiar with the reported shortcomings. The 24-70 can have some softness in the corners wide open but I usually shoot around f8 with all my lenses so I really don't see the softness issue. Over the years I find I shoot about 90% of my photos at focal lengths between 24 and 200mm so I really don't have a problem with the lens selection...which is growing rapidly. It is easy to get wrapped up in the GAS attack syndrome and buy 18 million lenses but how many do you really use and haul around? I know the prime lenses may offer better resolution than the zooms but I don't like changing lenses in the field anymore than I have to.
I also have the Metabones adapter so I can use my shorter and longer Canon lenses if I wish.

For the subject matter that I shoot the system is perfect for my needs. Good luck with your decision.

I have the Sony A7R and the Sony/Zeiss FE 24-70, f4 lens that I believe you are referring to and have been very happy with it. I find it to be a very good walk around lens with good sharpness, contrast and color. As most of the reviews point out it is a little soft in the corners at F4 but I seldom shoot wide open anyway. Even if I do shoot wide open it has not been a problem for me. It makes a nice well balanced rig with the A7 series body.

I also have the Sony FE 70-200 f4 lens which is excellent and highly recommended. If I shoot in low light situations I can bump up the ISO a stop or two to compensate for the slower lens and with no noticeable noise issues.

I know the Sony/Zeiss 24-70 f2.8 A-mount lens is a higher rated lens but I don't want to have to use the required adapter.

Nice shots...I like the symmetry in photos 1 and 2 and the play of lines and shadows in all 3. I can see your architectural fondness. Nice clean photos.

Sounds like some of our female type photographers on this site when their photos are critiqued ...............

Better be careful making comments like that....you may get whacked upside the head by someone wielding a Michael Kors purse in a dark ally!

The Canon factory refurbished SX50hs is currently listed for $386.99 on the Canon store website. Prices vary with availability. I bought 2 of them, one for $250 several months ago and another about 3 weeks ago for $169. Both like brand new with one year factory warranty and both work perfectly.
I have another that I purchased over a year ago on sale from B&H or Adorama for $329. So prices vary considerably. The 2 more recent purchases were gifts. Best camera I have ever used for the price...amazed by the color rendition and sharpness for such a small sensor.

My wife and I booked an 8 day Alaska cruise with National Geographic/Lindblad Expeditions for June of 2016. Smaller ship with only about 62 passengers, so not a big crowded cruise ship where you blend in with the masses. A bit on the costly side though. Departs Juneau and ends up in Sitka.
