Beautiful shot! Nicely captured.
Great shots!!! The 32 eagles on the sprinkler system is particularly captivating!

I really enjoyed your narrative. I, too, am surprised at how big they are! You did a great job of spotting them and getting nice shots!
CWilson, Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and commentary. I'm frequently amazed at how much wildlife is all around. I often totally miss seeing wildlife unless I stop and quietly, patiently look around and carefully listen. In this case, I had some good information on where to look for mountain goats, but they are very easy to miss even when you know that they're nearby.

I missed the DNR shoot this year, but you got it, Steve. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mike, The viewing event this year was only at Stillwater. There wasn't an 'event' in LCC, but I just stopped at the parking lot at the mouth of the canyon and looked around with binoculars until I saw this family of mountain goats. I would like to get pictures of them doing more than resting and eating, but that seems to be their main activity.
Mountain goats can be hard to spot in the winter or spring since they're usually resting on cliffs far away from potential predators (and photographers) and they often look like patches of snow in the distance. The first photo was taken on March 20 near Stillwater dam in north-eastern Utah. The second photo was taken April 17 at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City. A Department of Wildlife Resources biologist who attended the March 20 viewing explained that these billy goats reach up to about 350 pounds and the nanny's are typically in the 150-250 pound range as adults. They're larger than I thought. They seem to spend most of their time resting and eating....perhaps not much different than humans.

Another amazing photo stacked image. Nicely done!
Even in the rain, the birds are both sharp and the background is nice and soft. I like the flower in the foreground. Nicely done!
