PS. Thank you for your service![/quote

You're reply was better than mine. He probably needs some kindness.

Wow! I had Sunday breakfast too!

Did you have it with people who care for you and for whom you care and after a hard week trying to make life better for other people? Your contribution this week was to make a snarky remark. I expected better from you.

My Persian is doing something weird lately. Every time I finish a meal she likes to get on my lap and then turn around and look at me while pressing on my stomach with one paw and then the other for about 3 or 4 minutes. It hurts!!! I think she is trying to tell me something, but I'm confused.

Cat people call that "making biscuits"

Imagine having to keep one's superior knowledge private

It just occurred to me that those who obsess of the issue, such as our OP, rarely - if ever - share photos. How about creating some teaching topics?!

Linda, I guess thats me. I have replied exactly 5425 times, actually 5426 counting this one. I have posted exactly "0" images. Maybe someday.

Here's a thought. If you are viewing an image in the gallery and think that you have a suggestion that will improve the image and enlighten the poster, the P.M. the submitter of the image and share your insightful wisdom privately with them. I think all too often the suggestions about improvement aren't about being helpful, but are more about holding forth to show off what the responder knows in a public forum. Yes UHH is a "public" forum, but the gallery is a "private" corner of that "public" forum.

Bob Yankle posts on FaceBook almost every day.

I remember the birds from India. I think part of his user name was Singh?

Thanks, Jo I'm glad that Bob is still around. I think you might be right about the fellow with birds from India.

I would recommend Robert Frank’s “The Americans”. Should be available in many local libraries.

Seriously, here is a person who is hobbled up and house bound for the next six weeks or more and who probably has spent most of her photographic life taking color images with an I phone. I'm not sure how an on the move black and white examination of the American psychic no matter how incisive it may be will fire her up to take on photography as a hobby. In fact I'm not even sure about the premise of any book will any particular person to take up the subject of the book as a hobby. I agree that some books have inspired some people to try new things. I do think that Frank's book was a great one and an insightful look at the America of its time.

Thanks Linda, this is a wonderful thing that you are doing. Some folks whom I have wondered about have already been mentioned. Bob Yankle was gone for awhile, but came back briefly and is gone again. (unless he is posting in a section at which I don't look) There was the fellow in India who took wonderful bird images . I believe he passed. Then from Winnipeg was Don who took microscopic images of such things as pond scum. I will go back through my messages to see if I can more accurate names.

I'm late responding to this one. This is another of your more simple presentation of a single subject and you did a great job with it. Except that it wasn't exactly simple, but was replete with verticalities of which the young lady was but one. Thanks for this one.

My wife insists on a landline. I have a smartphone so the kids can text me and I can get directions when out in the vehicle that has no navigation. Mostly it sits on my desk and I often forget to take it with me.

I took it last night when we went out for dinner so I could watch the hockey game.

I'm older than you are...

You took your phone with you when you and your wife went out for dinner? Well at least you are honest about your priorities and typical of so many people who would rather be with their devices instead of the people they are with .
