Got news for ya Chief, kids ARE home schooled and just finished all the repairs on the travel trailer. Going to Carlsbad sometime in the next 10 days. Spending at least 6 months out of the year on the road is part of the plan.
So, actually joined up back in October, but wasn't really sure what I wanted to say about the series of events that have led me down my current path. I suppose I should begin in February of last year when my father died. Drove to California for the services, came back down Route 66, with an obvious stop at the Grand Canyon. Realized there was no way a cell phone could capture the awe inspiring majesty that we witnessed.(Still took lots of pics with the phone, though.) Fast forward to the middle of March, my 52 year old brother-in-law, military contractor in perfect shape, had a massive brain aneurysm, died instantly. And then, May 3rd, I had a massive heart attack, and if I hadn't been in the emergency room at the time, I wouldn't be here now. I am now retired. I am going to spend the rest of my days raising my 5 children, the ones still left at home, travelling around the country, and honing my photography skills. I think it"s going to be quite the adventure, as my 10 and 12 year old sons are also interested in the craft, and they each have their own DSLR's. Anyway, this isn't about getting any sympathy, just my motivations for learning everything I can about the craft, and hopefully someday be an actual photographer, as opposed to just being a guy that takes pictures, which I am now. Carpe diem!!
I don't know if Canon has anything like this, but Nikon has a Manual Viewer app. I carry manuals for all my cameras and speed flashes on my phone and tablet. Instant access, no paper.
Thank you, I think the overcast weather helped a bit.
A little something for everyone.
I think this will do for now, still gots lots more.
Altus Oklahoma has a little event every year, called Rock and Rumble. It's a city wide car show. Friday night is the kids Power Wheels cruise, where the kids get to cruise their cars up and down the streets around the courthouse. Saturday, classic cruise, stereo system contest, and burnout contest. All on city streets.
Curious to see where this thread goes, have several older Nikon DSLR's.

Looks like bird splat on the checker board?? Wonder which bird won. Nice contributions to Free Sunday
Actually, Pat, this park is right next to the high school, that's the tiles being chipped away from years of teenage abuse. Wish it WAS bird droppings.
So, a little late to the party but I had a busy day. Went to the park with the kids this morning, just took the D3400. Enjoy.
You do realize this thread is over 2 years old, right?
New state of the art station in Altus, Oklahoma. All photos are unedited. Any feedback would be appreciated. Really trying to learn how to use my equipment properly, plan on doing some serious traveling with the family very soon, and don't want to miss any of those once in a lifetime moments. Thanks.
The 501 locomotive in Childress, Tx. We like going on road trips to 'get lost'. Most of the time we have no idea where we'll end up. Both boys also have DSLR'S, may post some of theirs later. Photos are unprocessed.
