I thought a low rider was when the whole car was low, front & back. Where's the lights on the chassis that shine on the road? Yes, i understand the suspension is hydraulic but the car looks like hell with the rear almost touching the ground and the front high in the air. Hmmm, maybe it does have broken leaf springs.

Wow! just what i always wanted, a car that goes bouncy bounce.

That's your opinion. And I didn't buy the car to bounce it.

The ‘59 and ‘ 60 both had those flat fins. Nowhere in sight on this one.

Yes, but the '59 fins had a smooth curvature to them. The '60 had an angle/bend to them.

The rear is sitting way too low, looks like the rear leaf springs are broken!

It has hydraulics. It is raised up while driving.

The tail lights have been changed but the car is a '59. Google a '59 and a '60 and observe from the rear. It is a '59.

I stand corrected. Good catch.

The '60 Impala is actually a '59. (The third one down)

Nope. The '59 didn't have round tail lights. He is correct that it is a '60.

Looks like a 283 V8 and powerglide. No power windows.
My brother Tom had one just like this one but three on the tree.

You are correct.

Couldn't help myself. Here are pics of a 64 Impala, a 67 Impala, a 60 Impala and an Impala of unknown year behind the models with the happy guy. Shortly after this pic was taken, the guy had a heart attack but recovered nicely. First one at car show in Seattle and the others in Southern California.

Nice! I grew with mini trucks and went to a lot of the Lowrider magazine shows.

That's a beauty but I think I would like it better with the suspension raised closer to stock height.

It already has hydraulics that will do that.

Pretty car. Too bad it was turned into a low rider.

To each his own. That's what I wanted. Too bad you don't like lowriders.

Really nice car!
I had a friend back in 63 who got the same car, but in blue with the 409 engine, that puppy could move. You’re going to have a great time cruising around and going to car shows.
Is that a 383, or a 327?

Original 283. Just a cruiser.

Looks like a beautifully restored vehicle. I call these "pet cars" -- cars you want but do not need. I have had several such cars that gave me great joy. Just looking at the engine, it may be original rather than the almost universally mandatory "350" replacement. Looks like it needs helper springs in the rear, however. I'm sure you will find great joy with this ride.

It is the original 283. It has hydraulics on it to raise it up and down.

For those who love old cars, please do not take this the wrong way. I assume you see beauty and experience nostalgia? I only see negatives. Could you list the reasons for owning a nearly 60 year old vehicle? I assume, again, that they are emotional and have nothing to do with practicality.

Weird question... Because its cool! Of course its not practical.

SWEETNESS! Sometimes the wait is well worth it to get "what you really want." Beautiful paint. Someone mentioned the fuel economy? Who gives a damn? Happiness is NOT measured in MPGs when you cruise. Hope your enjoyment lasts forever. Now you need a "frown mask", cops write tickets to those who smile as much as you will. Cops I know will write you fan mail before tickets! Great choice!

Ha! Thanks! I agree.
