Walked out of the garage and saw the moon was already rising while still light... grabbed my camera and threw on a 500 mm lens.

I braced myself against the garage but it was handheld.

Little touchup in LR and a high pass filter in PS.

ISO 500, 1/1000, f/6.3
Great shot!!

At last the sun showed its face and I went up to the Dam for a pleasant 1.5 hours this morning...the light was a bit harsh but the sun felt lovely on my back... :-D
Some of my pics, got out the old D90 and the Sigma 150-500mm...
The only disappointment of the morning, my Mate brought the makings for a cup of coffee...he brought everything, hot water, mugs, etc but forgot the coffee...

Fantastic shots!!!

What you've got here is a female Variegated Meadowhawk (Sympetrum corruptum). Very nice photo by the way!

Noticed today a Wren was going in and out of the nestbox about every ten minutes or so. Taken with 7D and 400mm f5.6 lens.

Today was the first time I've seen this big-eyed bird at our lake in central AZ. These photos are not award-winning by any means, but hopefully from them, someone will be able to tell me what kind they are. Thank you so much. DJ

I think you will find these shots pretty close:

The depth of field is very shallow when zooming that far, and I should use a tripod more often, but I don't :)

Fabulous shots. Linda!!!

The deer have been regular visitors out back. They show up like clock work right around 8pm. Due to the lack of light, I have had to shoot at ISO 2500-3200. Lots of noise. I have been using the Luminance tool in LR to fix. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Excellent photos!

I took these today, as soon as I managed to get close enough to take the picture it quit singing, this is the best my 55-250 could do. They are highly cropped. Constructive criticism appreciated.
Super shots!!!
