I feel your pain. You should see the back of my ham radio station. Every few years, I decide to make it all nice and neat like the inside of (most) data center racks, but somehow, magically, it turns into a rats nest again. I need to install several open U shaped cable trays and use Velcro straps, but if I tear everything apart and start from scratch, I KNOW half the equipment won’t work. I should label both ends of every cable, but there aren’t a dozen, more like 50-100.

Just wanted to say Hi.
Back in the dark ages, when code was required to obtain
a license, I struggled with learning code and then through
leniency by the Tester, I obtained a license. Never got on
the air but the interest in ham radio continues to this day.
I subscribe to https://swling.com/blog/ and will be trying
out listening via an online SDR.

Thanks for reading this.

I didn't see a reply so I will step in. Open Shell Menu is excellent and has a lot of customization available. Fun to play with and it can be turned off or uninstalled. Free, free, free.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness by "so I will step in."

I will give it a try.

What features do you not like in Win 10? If it is the "tiles" at startup, you can delete them with a right click.
Mark

It would probably be easier to state what features I do
like.

I don't like the file system, the search feature, Photos,
(Windows Media Center was great).

I have been involved with computers since search was
done via "bulletin boards", wire (cat5)small offices for
file, printer, and resource sharing.

True, I have forgotten a lot over the years.

Another subject:
Don Cherry Dies.

If this link doesn't work, please let me know and
hopefully, I will find another way.

Skip the Widows 8 (phone-like) features in Win 10, set it up to run like Windows 7. I customized my Windows 10 to look and run like Windows 7. It makes a lot more sense that way and is easier to use for a long term Windows user. What you describe sounds like an issue, mine does not do that it will indicate resources on line, on the PC, and in my files. I only run it that way when I don't know what to do. Normally I run the program or app I need directly or go to my files in my Windows File Explorer. The Run or Start is more for then you need help.

Wow! I absolutely hate WIN 10. Please point me to where I can learn to
make 10 look like 7.

Is it reversible? 7 back to 10?

Thanks very much.

Get any robins at our feeders.
I was replying to a previous post.

Very nice set.
Robins must be the #1 bathers in the bird world.
They regularly bathe in our bird bath.

Mark, I am always grateful for you "jazz links".

Perhaps you should contact a local college or
university and offer to set up a program(s) for
the study of jazz, its history and its future.
I sure hope it has a future but the outlook is
not encouraging.

Great photos. I appreciate you sharing them.

I know nothing about "colorizing" photos. Please point
me to locations for further information. I can "Google"
but will probably turn up a "gizillion" useless links.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the book title. I will try to chase it down.
If I find more, I will try to remember and let you know.

I really enjoy all of your pictures and their superb quality
and composition.

The fox pictures are especially enjoyable. The "family"
shots are heart warming. My wife and I watch all of
the Nature presentations on PBS. I envy the beautiful
part of this wonderful country in which you live.

How far are the dens from your home?

The "levitating" bird is a Nuthatch.

There is a smaller version called Pigmy Nuthatch.

The "levitating" Nuthatch is a great picture.

Really nice set.

We have a pair
that visit out peanut feeder daily.
There is a large maple tree in out
back yard that has many dead limbs
with multiple holes very high up.
I have been unable to determine if
any of them have occupants.
