It would be interesting to know how the distribution system works. Does B&H receive a thousand Z8 bodies? What about Adorama and the camera stores all over the world? I'm glad I'm not in charge of distribution.

I was offered a Z8 when they first came out being a member of NPS. I didn’t take the offer right away because I wanted to wait and see some of the reviews. It seems the reviews have been positive. I purchased mine from Nikon. I have no idea how many they got. I purchased it with the 24mm to 120mm lens.

I watched some reviews of the Z8 on YouTube. That looks like a winner - a smaller Z9, with some advantages over it, but at a lower price. If only the price was lower.

It has Airplanes Mode. I wonder if that would work equally well for birds. Apparently the Z8 isn't available to the general public yet, but I bet it will sell out quickly.

Hi Jerry41,

I'll let you know how it turns out when I get mine. Being part of NPS I hope to get mine soon.

Simo Hayha is the highest scoring sinper that ever lived. He did all his shooting without a scope, something unheard of today. He's the legend that all sinpers learn about.

I gave up and left; I'm only 4 hours away and I will go back; thanks to all the UHHers who resonded with good information

one next to last question; it looks like the Navajos altered the egress from the canyon; I watched a video of someone walking up metal stairs and then onto a metal "bridge walk " a couple of times. I read that you have to make this walk back to the vehicles in 15 minutes; any response to this ?

last question: it seems that there are 5 flights of stairs ( with (?) 4 landings; assuming one can rest periodically,
even though a i have a controlled heart condition, does anyone think I might still be able to make it back upto get out of the canyon?

Hi Ed,
When I was at upper Antelope Canyon there were no stairs to the slot canyon. You did have to be with a Navajo guide to get in. I forgot what service I use, but she was a Navajo photographer. The guide also took us to Canyon X.

Didn't really pick up from discussions that one needs to make reservations well in advance of arrival. I'm here: no 12 pm ( the recom-mended time slot ) slots are available. Anyone know if I should take a 8:45 am or 1:45 time slot, or come back another time when I can plan accordingly ( will go to Canyon de Chelly in the future, & could stop at AC on the way )

Take the 1:45pm, the sun should be overhead at that time.

If we are critiquing the photo (as in pose, set-up, etc) can I, as a non-gunny, ask if the extra mags actually fit the weapon she is brandishing?

Hi John,

She carrying a H&K MP-5 9mm, but the magazines in chest rig are for an AR-15 5.56. So they won't fit the gun.

The famous figure model Liz Ashley will visit the San Antonio/Austin area once again in mid April.
Liz is one of the hand full of great models that have been modeling as internet models for over a decade. If you hook up with her for a shoot you will have one of the grand pro models who use the internet to make contact with photographers to do model sessions.

If your in the Hog and wish to schedule a session with Liz you can full use of my studio, Mission Road Studio at NO CHARGE. All you need do is contact Liz and set it up and you will have use of one of the best studios available in Southwest Texas. Artificial light and flash (mono lights, Norman, Dyno-light, plus huge selections of modifiers and soft boxes, umbrellas, you name it) plus LED lighting, many props and location studios with even a secluded garden that is lush and easy to use and perfectly secluded for all types of figure work.

I include the image of Ms. Liz by MATT FISHER, a local photographer here in San Antonio who has used my studio many times to work with models.

Truly, Liz is the best. She will work with beginners and the most skilled photographer. This woman know most anything about photography and modeling. By the way, no need for an MUA (Make Up Artist) as Liz could teach models all the ins and outs of hair and make up. No tats and everything Liz is 100% natural!

All the props and lighting equipment is here located at the studio.
