John, more great photos of Quebec City. When we were there, with all the walking we did, it was enough of a struggle for us. Can't imagine trying it in winter conditions. Keep up the good work.

Irv.

Many thanks, Irv! Visiting Quebec City, or any other place for that matter, always comes with numerous constraints; constraints that of course I do not have, being a resident. That said, I almost went back to bed. More difficult to get up at my age than it used to be. However, it is quite mild and they are predicting 41F with lots of rain tonight and tomorrow, followed by 28F on Monday. So, the place will be a sheet of ice and I thought it advisable to go this morning. Take care!

Lovely tour, John! Is the toboggan still running near the Chateau?

Many thanks, Mike! Yes it is. I should have taken a shot for you. Mind you, it is not as free running as in the old days. They have these lanes now with sidewalls, for lack of a better term, and a big wooden fence around the whole thing, that prevent you from sliding into the toboggan next to you or to tourists walking on the Dufferin Terrace. Just for safety, I guess, although who knows, maybe there were potential or real lawsuits at some point.

Looks like a beautiful city...if there is such a thing! I hate big cities! Beautiful photos, GreyOwl!

Many thanks, Chief! The old part of the city is attractive - the new part not at all!. I agree, I do not like big cities. I live on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence and when I moved here there was still a farm at the end of our street (now filled with duplexes), one small grocery store and large tracts of wooded areas. Today the whole place is filled with apartment blocks, condos, every kind of eatery one can think of, a Costco, Walmart, Home Depot, three large supermarkets, etc.

A lot of initial fog. Had to wait for some time before it lifted enough so that I could take hand held photos.
