#1 looks like Marshall Point Light in Maine. Very nice and demonstrates the capability of a compact travel camera

I prefer and use extensively the Sony HX99. Why? Because it can shoot RAW, has a very sharp 24-720 mm ZEISS lens, pop up viewfinder for daylight shooting, a pop up flash for auto fill, can shoot pano's, movable rear screen for low shots, and delivers 20X30 sharp images.
And, can fit into my belt pouch so I am HANDS FREE when I travel. Over all, this is the BEST compact camera I have ever used.
Travel right, travel lite.
First shot, a light house in Maine, I put the camera on the deck and tilted up my rear screen, second shot was from on top of the ARCH in St Louis, they suggest if you want the shadow of the arch get on one of the first trips in the morning. The third shot is an image of my belt pouch for the camera so I can be hands free, very important on trips, and the last shot is one of my favorites, we were on a water taxi in Venice Italy and a brides boat was just turning into a side canal, my wife yelled at me and pointed, I got my camera from the pouch, turned it on, zoomed it out to 720mm, just then the bride stood up and turned, I shot.
Again, the smaller the camera, the better it is as a travel companion. I take no other equipment besides extra batteries and lots of cards. I have never used a two card system, I have shot digital for years and never had an issue. Of course, I know what I am doing which helps a lot.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
