We just need a few more idiots making super viruses and super soldiers.

One day mother nature will clean house.

Or when Yellowstone blows, all concerns will change drastically in a few minutes to several years.

Shot in b&w, so no, it wasn't converted from color.

Ok, everyone has commented on what a fine shot this is, and I agree.

Am I the only one, knowing where you do most of your photographing, to wonder at what elevation you shot this photo of a SEAshell and wonder how did it get there. Unless someone was carrying it and just dropped it, I know how it got there. So now it's a wonder, to me, as to how it survived all these millennia.

The first knife vintage 2000 ,#2 vintage 1970 If I read the Date codes right

Wow!
First photo is really outstanding.

I have carried a pocket knife since I was, I think, 3 years old. Thinking back, I can remember six in the last 70 years. One is now in the possession of a nephew. The others are somewhere in my house. I have others owned by my Dad and Grandpa. And others never used.

From the show

See the Poppy Red (orange) Mustang convertible setting beside the black Corvette? My friend's Dad bought one of the very first ones in the summer of '63. Poppy Red convertible with white interior, 289 Hi Po floor shifted automatic and "Mag" style wheel covers.

I could tell you some "stories", but someone would probably take the stand that I was feeding everyone B.S.

All right guys. I don't like bird and flower pictures! If I see birds or flowers, or suspect such I don't open. But there's thousands of people who do, so I don't complain,

I've been lurking again, and watching the AI develop. I think Rick might be on to something. While the girl looked decent, color wise, I thought her hair was lacking. The background definitely needs human help. I don't know how good your remember is from 50(?) years ago is, but I doubt that the sand, sea, and sky were all that full grey. Throwing in a little tan, green, and blue might help, and help it learn

I taught high school drafting for 33 years. Learned to read up side down sideways, backwards, and any other direction. Still do at almost 73.

The one biggest thing I have learned taking photos of cars at shows is,,,,, patience. There is always going to be others looking at what you want to photograph. Ya just have to wait.

Getting to a small local show an hour or two early helps in looking at the sun and planning when and where to shoot.

I don't think you're at all alone in this regard. I also like to see the whole car the way it was designed to look. I really don't like to see the underside of a hood, and I try to avoid that as much as possible.

However, sometimes I also like to see a closeup of some unique features. I think a lot of people show these because they can't get a good shot of the car without a lot of people or other cars intruding into the space. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have available.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the classics, I do appreciate your presentation. The overall shots help to define the close up shots of the details, which may have no meaning without knowing what your looking at. That beautifully engraved door handle by itself...... eh. But as you presented, is impressive, as are the headlights and the interior/ dash board.

And by the way, I have great appreciation of all the work that went into the restoration of that car. And all the work you put into taking, processing, and posting your photos.

I very much enjoy photographs of Classic and Custom vehicles. However, closely cropped photos of hood ornaments, grills and tail lights leave me empty. I know that some consider such images to be "artistic" but I like to see the entire vehicle. Am I alone in this regard?

No you are not. I like to see the entire car first and foremost. Then if you want to show some details and close ups that's ok.

What is it that you like about it? The marketing description at B&H starts with, "The ST125 ST-Series Carbon Fiber Tripod with K-10X Arca-Type Ball Head from Sirui is designed with mirrorless cameras in mind."

I have been helping shoot a documentary this year. It includes using some heavier duty Manfrottos that have flip locks on the legs. I've grown to dislike them, but don't know if twist locks would be better.

Based on B&H reviews, the Sirui you picked is very good. If it were me, I would order it and the "Peak Design Aluminum Travel Tripod". I would compare them and return the one I don't like. Those two seem to top out in all the reviews at B&H.

One odd question about the Sirui was that the foot spikes can't be removed and it is possible that airport TSA agents might not let you carry on your tripod!

I'm curious. What is it about leg flip locks that you do not like. I have two that have twist locks that I find to be time consuming and annoying.
