You can take your RAW and HDR them (I use Photomatix) first and then merge them But the will be JPG after HDR

That's how I do it.But if you're satisfied with the jpegs coming out of your camera's HDR, why not just use those jpegs in LR or PS to stitch them to form the pano?

Very good, but I’m very surprised that the Susan Boyle audition didn't make the cut

This guy makes it look easy and smooth - until you look at what he's doing with the stick (constantly moving).

And another not-so-green thing: instant-on TVs. I read that 10% of the power in my state (CA) is used just for the “keep-alive” current on the TVs, so people won't have to wait for them to warm up.

Just curious, was your bamboo slide rule a Sans & Streiffe? I had one in the early 60s that couldn't take the Iowa humidity and warped. It was replaced by a Post Versalog and later on, a bright yellow metal Pickett. Ever since reading this post this morning, I have been scouring the house looking for that yellow gem!
Later still.....and I'm more than just a little pleased that somehow it made its way to my bike maintenance area....
Just curious, was your bamboo slide rule a Sans &a... (show quote)

No, mine is a Post Versalog. I still have it in its original leather case. I just took it out, and, although it doesn't move as readily as I rememer it doing 50+ years ago, it still works (and it never runs out of power )

Back in the late 50's, this was a cheer chanted at the football games by a group of Engineering Students (Who else?) ...

In 1963, one of the standard Georgia Tech football chants was
“Differential x, differential y, a squared, b squared, integral of pi, engineers touchdown, engineers yell, Georgia Tech engineers fight like hell”

Sorry to (further) hijack this thread. The original topic, the SR-71/A12, is fascinating.

When I was in 9th grade (1960), one of the other kids in my algebra class brought a plastic slide rule to class. His father had given it to him. The only thing he knew how to do with it was to use it as a straight edge to draw lines. I mentioned it to my dad who got me a simple one. I immediately learned how to do multiplication, division, powers and roots. (That was before I learned abought logs, etc.) My dad knew then that I’d become an engineer, and he was right. Before I graduated (in math) from Georgia Tech in 1963, I had a number of slide rules, including bamboo (encased in plastic) and metal circular slide rules.

I didn't get my first electronic calculator (a TI) until around 1972.

When I programmed computers in assembly language decades ago, I always wished there was an RPM instruction. RPM meaning “Read Programmer's Mind”.
