Motion blur of the background will help implying movement. The more motion blur you do the faster it looks. The example that I posted is a chop job and can be done better with more careful planning.

Beautiful composition, needs just a little work.
I used Photoshop, Topaz Clarity, and the sharpening method learned from the following blog.

http://blog.topazlabs.com/tutorials/image-sharpening-trick/?mc_cid=6646f72947&mc_eid=4c441499f5

This method of sharpening deals with noise and sharpening in the same routine.

This is my try at fulfilling your request.

I like the simplicity of your photo, but it is a little dull for my tastes. I increased the sharpness on the feather and the stones in the in-focus area and added some color. I also made a light path to the feather and then created a vignette to help bring the eyes to the feather and hold them there. This, of course, is my personal view of your photo and only one of many variations possible.

I screwed up something.

Thanks jpintn. Your suggestion worked perfectly. Clearly, Topaz is aware of an ongoing problem with PSCC since they have instructions for a potential fix right on the installation page. While we might not expect a software to have all of the answers, I don't think it is too much to ask that they at least respond to requests for tech support. Especially since they have no telephone number and this is the only way to contact them.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. I looked for a phone number for support and came up with this one: 1-972-432-7145 I found it at this location.

I added a little to your photo. The sunbeams and color gives a little different perspective.

Hello Roadking..
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!! GREAT work..
Now I KNOW that it's probably NOT as easy as it seems (as you have already produced a finished image.) But I was wondering. How long did it take you, and what is your computer proficiency?
Is it something that an IDIOT can learn????

It is as easy as pie. Instructions come in the zip file. You make a blank layer above the background layer and name it "brush". You then paint on that layer over the parts you want to keep. Any color will do. Then just run the action, it does the rest. When it has finished you can keep as is or select different layers to change colors or one with a mask that will allow you to bring the more important parts into focus. I'm still experimenting with it myself. I am really amazed at the these programmers ability.

Hi buddah17; There are many different ways to approach changing the background. All involve using a graphics program and or plug ins. The latest that I have discovered is a $5.00 action for Photoshop from graphicriver. Its name is Modern Art 2 and is very involved taking some time to complete. It has many layers that can be altered to make the image closer to what you have envisioned. It is a fantastic action for the money. The link to Modern Art 2 is below if interested.

Greetings MtnMan'

Beautiful profusion of plants, but no center of focus to hold interest. Using dodge and burn I created a path to the center tree. Also used dodge and burn on the natural occurrences on the tree to help the imagination of the viewer.

Greetings T. ;

Beautiful set of bucks, I'm lucky to see one around home.

I decided to try an artistic approach to your photo. I have done so much to it that you may consider it over done. Anyway it is one of many possibilities.

I tried a painterly approach. I used two different painting styles blended to come up with this version.

Greetings LLucas;

I like the photo pretty much the way it is. I did do a few things that I believe have helped some. I pulled the right side of her face in and lengthened her neck a little. Next I plumped her lips and put highlights in her eyes and hair and raised her left eyebrow a little. The original tone was pretty cool so I warmed it up a little.
