So here's the deal. I plan to shoot the total solar eclipse at Casper Wyoming. I will be using a Canon 5d Mark 3 with a Canon 500mm lens taking one shot every 3 or 4 seconds for the duration of the eclipse. total shooting time of around three hours or so from before start to just after finish. My questing is the lens uses a drop in filter. This filter is a "solar" filter, behind all the glass that makes up the lens. Not worried about the camera but will pointing the lens at the sun for three or so hours do any damage to the lens? I will have the camera - lens mounted on an equatorial mount tripod so it will be centered on and track the sun for the duration of the eclipse.

yes but the sad part about the whole thing was how the government treated the American tax payer by shutting things down and then when it was all over they paid everyone anyway, a great paid vacation for, as the government put it, non essential employees !!!

should have said refuse to use the cloud. don't want to just keep shelling out money to adobe. adobe has just become a money pit. And I did buy this from an authorized dealer back in the day. was also installed on windows 10 but i installed an new hard drive with 7 ultimate. I don't understand why adobe can't just renew the serial number to solve this problem

I am trying to reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and when I enter my serial number I get a "the serial number you have entered has been revoked" contact customer service. trying to find a phone number for customer service on their web page is like pulling teeth. Anybody have any ideas ????

I purchased a used Canon Drop in Filter from Adorama so it came without any information. This is a Canon screw 52 holder, so it takes a 52mm screw in filter. My question is that it came with a "Canon 52mm protect" as part of this holder. I have tried to remove this "protect" but it doesn't seem to budge. If I screw a filter on to the "protect" filter, it looks as if it will not fit into the lens slot. I'd rather not try to place this in the lens and cause any damage. My question is if the "protect", that looks like a filter in its self, is removeable and if just one filter can be screwed into the holder. I don't have a filter wrench but again I don't know if it is removeable.

yes, I have the drop in filter that takes the 52mm threaded filter, i.e. the same idea as the one that screws onto the lens

I am looking for a solar filter that will fit the drop in filter of a canon 500mm lens. This drop in filter is a 52mm threaded holder. lots of solar filters found for telescopes but not having much luck finding ones for the camera lens
