love you guys and am really glad I can sit here and say that.

I didnt jump until I heard my partner bust out the back window and get out, then I went. "Never leave a man behind"

Thank you all for your well wishes, we'll be fine, I have pushed others to help veterans for so many years now we were overwhelmed with assistance and support.

So in all fairness, thank you all again. Now lets get back to playing and learning here.

Marijuana kills? Since when? Can you name one death in the history of the world caused by marijuana? Your another one of those brain washed people.

Ya know the difference between someone stoned and a drunk?

A drunk runs the stop sign, someone stoned waits for the sign to turn green

just saying.............

And I totally agree with my second amendment rights.

Banged my legs up pretty good coming out of second floor window off the roof, holding my little dog and jumped just like I was taught in the military without the repelling line. But yes Life is precious.

Look for me harassing people and I will be looking for your jokes, advice and looking for equipment all over again.

People that came to the mtn home thought I was nuts to have 2 smoke alarms downstairs and 3 upstairs.

Not so nuts now uh....

Poof everything gone in a blink of an eye.
I know I should be greatful that we got out alive.

Its been a long crazy summer, fall and here we are into winter. I just got another computer, and will be working on more camera gear a little at a time.

I'm back to giggle at your jokes, read and learn, and thankful I can do this.

Have missed you guys and your posts, now it will keep my mind occupied.

I still have my brownie and sometimes for giggles will roll some film for it and go out.

Guilty of one shot one kill,,,,,,,,,, oops thats another subject, same idea though. Give much thought to composition, subject, surroundings.

well I must be wierd too,,,,
My chemicals all in a row on a shelf above my trays and at the very far right end a snoot of wine and a glass just for the wine.. My music, and I can be lost in my darkroom for hours, even overnight, or days except for potty breaks.

I never shot Raw until I started coming here,, now I shoot 90% raw and I love it. I also use Coral, I have a nice curve adjustment and camera and lens correction.

No surprise, some peeps still think the kitchen stove is the reason for good food

You are right, we all know the real reason for good food is the micro wave.

This also sounds like the digital age and point and shoot is catching up to some "photographers" that may have more money than sense when selecting camera equipment. Just my two cents, thanks.

I LOVE IT !!!

A camera is nothing but a tool. If you don't take the time to learn how to properly use it, you will get hurt! And another tool is never the right solution to the problem.

Exactly,,,,,,

Unfortunately I spewed all over a post the other day after loosing a contract I have had for 9 years because "Someone" had a new camera and has learned to use an inexpensive HDR application and took the owners for a ride. She will do the comercial shots for less than half the price I have contracted for. Because she is now a photographer...........

I cant compete with these kind of people, I wont compete with these kind of people. The ironic thing was at the board meeting she had the nerve to stand up pull out a copy shot, she shot the exact same pose I did within min of my shot) and asked me if it was good enough with all the HDR she applied it looked like something from a coloring book...

I took a deep breath,,, tried to maintain composier and said very politely as possible,, "Well youve learned how to use a photo application when are you going to learn how to use your camera?"

So,, I lost a 10k contract she gained a 1 year 3500.oo hobby and I smiled as I walked away.

just shoot me. I wish everyone had to spend hours, weeks months years,,,,, working with all formats from 35 to large, darkroom, light, focus, even pinhole, before they are allowed to touch a digi.

okay Im done spewing again.............. for now.. still burning the tiny hairs on the back of my neck.

Okay so Im having a bad day anyways,,, met with another "Photographer" (picture taker) the thoughts I had on my mind fell down to my mouth and just slipped out so Im figuring why stop there right...

So If I offend anyone I'll apologize right now cause I probably wont later...........

GWMH,,,, ""I am needing a picture of a road for a project I am doing""

If your doing a project isnt it ethical that you use your own work?

""Bruce H wrote:
why don't you just take your own photo?...

Because there are no nice roads in Kenya""

Well Duhhhhh GWMH,,,, did you travel to the States and forget to take these shots you are seeking out?
OR have you forgotten to look around you at the beauty that is in your own back yard in Kenya?

Forgive me if Im not very tactful today, but it is what it is............

Has anyone used any of the Lensbaby line?
If so Pros ? Cons?

I usually have just been doing a search on subjects and have 99.9% of the time found my answers, I'm just being lazy today..

May find some new input

Thanks
Jan

Ugly Jakes' suggestion is what I use on the fly.
Fold up nice and you can get them in a wide varity of solors, Blue, gold, silver etc. The car shade folds up nicely to pack in my camera bag. for only a few dollars try one.

Great on the go but not a substitute for pro still shots but afforadable for on the run. If you put a tear in it toss it buy another. Good for a start and gives you an idea which reflective color you may want to purchase in the future,,,,,,,,,
