Interesting Tidbit: Indigo Buntings have no blue pigment; they are actually black,
but the diffraction of light through the structure of the feathers makes the male
appear blue. These attractive birds are also found in rural roadside thickets and

Thank you for that info, Something I never knew. So if you or I took a picture in the dark, no flash, they wood look black.
