Thank all of you for your comments. I realize the editing treatment I gave this image wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but the original, full-color image was very unappealing and so, I began to try and salvage something from it. This is what I ended up with.

Thanks for looking in.

I like your work and have to say that you are a great ambassador for the Pentax K-50.

This was taken while I was on a safari on the Oregon coast, near Manzanita Beach. It was a little rust bucket, tied up to a wharf in a little backwater slough.

I shot this while I was prowling around an old farm in the San Joaquin Valley of California back in 1969, not long after returning home from Vietnam.

I have a pair of squirrels that run the fence line in the neighborhood. My granddaughter has named them Earl & Shirley. They used to have a lot of fun teasing my little dog, running back and forth, chirping at him.

I hung an American flag on the fence behind my bird condo to get this shot. I thought it somewhat appropriate for the occasion.

Thanks, all you vets for your service to our nation! We owe you a debt that can never be repaid.

Glorious Creature and nice images of it. I once had one myself many years ago and they are powerful hunters with strong legs and very sharp claws.

Thanks for taking a look, Blair. Yes, you're right about them having very strong leg muscles and their talons are as big as an out-stretched hand. They're magnificent creatures but not to be trifled with.

Thank you all for your kind words and comments. This was one of those shots that more or less composed itself. I was lucky enough to be there with a camera in hand.

Nice picture of a red barn. Which of the large houses above it are you talking about?

Well.... actually the one directly above the barn.... but either one will do.

The turquoise artifact you see in the background is my neighbor's garden hose.... hung on the fence. I thought it provided some very pleasing bokeh.

This was taken with a Pentax K-50 using a Vivitar 80-200mm close focus lens.

Really nice. You are making that K-50 sing.

Thank you, NM Gal. I love my K-50. They have a well-deserved reputation of having an aperture control problem, but I paid $125 to have mine fixed and now, you couldn't pry it out of my hands! Best money I ever spent.

Blasts my eyes!

Thanks, artBob. That was taken on my first outing with that particular lens and I was trying out it's 1:2 macro capabilities. I was pleasantly surprised. It has proven to be one of my most used lenses, being also a great birding lens in addition to the incredible sharpness it shows in macro mode. The APO version of this lens has three apochromatic elements for some excellent color rendition and 9 aperture blades for some very nice bokeh.

love the photo, include some old time poker cards, preferably with the dead man's hand.

Thanks for the suggestion of including the poker cards.... especially with aces and eights! Winter is coming on, so.... who knows? Maybe time for a new still life.
