Wonderful shot! BTW "hare-brained" would have been more appropriate.

Thanks That's what it was supposed to be

Excellent...and interesting! Are the tiny white specks around it's eye, snow, or water droplets or what? I really like this.

Felt like ice crystals, Lol It was -14 with a light snow when I took this.

I almost missed it
it was fast
like the blink of a rabbit's eye
the sunset and disappeared into the night

Things in motion tend to stay in motion, so what happens to the dogs and the person at the end of the run when the dog suddenly stops? I don’t think those kegs have brakes.

There was actually a gentleman and that was his job to catch the keg at the end of the run

Great photos. But I gotta say, I kinda see this as dog abuse. But then again, the dogs look like they're having fun.

All dogs go to heaven, humans not so much.

There do you feel better now that your on your band wagon. First thanks for thinking of the dogs but do you know what abuse is? I currently have 2 rescue dogs , my Freidy was beaten so badly by some asshole, he got to spend some time for his crime and she has PSTD. I basically live in the middle of nowhere Do you know what it's like to come across a mother dog and her pups executed and left for dead but their not all dead and don't open burlap bags thrown in creeks and don't forget all the abandon cats and dogs just dropped in the woods to live free forever, sorry for the outburst but when you come across an older dog left tied to a mail box in the middle of a blizzard because someone doesn't want to feel the pain or take responsibility for a dying dog, it colors how you feel. On the other hand the amount of love shown towards our 4 legged friends and the money raised for good cause's in a community effort to put smiles on it's citizen's faces was just a lot of fun. To be honest I did see 2 dogs who were a little spooked by the empty kegs but this was due to owners lack of responsibility. As the pictures show the dogs were happily running into the open arms of loving involved pet owners , Ask that little girl or her pup as he jumps into her arms at the finish line if they feel like abused. Please take your bandwagon to the nearest animal shelter and really make a difference!

I guess it's a new tradition to make sure everybody gets a nice foam head to their beer by having the dogs drag the kegs as fast as they can before serving.

Lol I had a friend ask how I get the deer to look at me before they bolt, and I answered a Spoon Full of Sugar or most of the time my rendition of Julie Andrew's My Favorite Things lightly whistled. Ya I know but give me a minute. I have been chasing deer close to 6 decades, humans are not the only vocal animal on the planet , ever heard a Chickadee chickadee dee de. Deer and elk are very vocal among themselves as are most predators which also means all wildlife listen for unseen threats as well as those in destress, warning some to flee, while others are attracted to an easy meal. Most hunters are familiar with predator calls which are basically rabbit or fawn distress calls designed to bring in coyotes and Moutain Lions and they work but when the rest of life hears the call for help, all stop for a moment to see if it involves them before the fight or flight response kick in. That moment for deer can be fleeting due to their natural flight instincts. Deer communicate with snorts, grunts, wheezes' and whistles and i think by whistling a little quiet tune perks their curiosity as to what is making the sound perhaps giving time for a shot. It does not work all the time but what the hell at least I get to whistle while I work and I think it helped me get the shots above.
