It is a great camera. I have an SX30 that I often lend to friends who visit while I am in Florida or the Catskill mountains. My guests who are not photographers, all love it and many have bought one or a later model. You might want to consider one of the other super zooms. I have become very partial to the SX720. It is a much smaller, lighter camera that can fit into a shirt pocket. It has a 40x optical zoom. This is the camera I always have with me, even when I am carrying one of the larger full frame slr. It is more expensive, but more likely that she will use it for many years.

You have an investment in Cannon glass, which seems to indicate that should be the brand you stay with. Every sport you photograph can require something different. I trained the Army Judo Team at West Point. While I was in a stationary position, how far away that was could and lighting could vary with the venue. Often I would be on one end of the competitive area while cadets engaged in simultaneous matches from 10 feet to the length of a football field away This means high speed, and a lens that could go from 28 to 300 or more. I use Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR Camera in part because I already own the glass. It also gives me continuous shooting up to 12 fps for up to 26 RAW frames. Clear Image Zoom can be used to magnify the center of scenes by 2x to effectively extend the reach of any focal length lens. The camera seems to focus well in low light, It also weighs less then my Nikon and Cannon cameras. For my situation it is ideal

Has anyone tried this software? If you have what are your thoughts on it?

I like the software, but it can easily be over done. Just as in taking a photo, the results can vary. I might try Portrait pro on ten pictures, before I find the one I am happy with.

It is NOT racist to refer to a virus by name of the region, country, continent, etc. which was the point of origin. It's simply a geographic identification. It would probably be racist to call it the Chink Virus, for example. I'd suggest you educate yourself on the difference between a geographic location and a population of people living there.

In that case we should refer to the hats worn by Trump supporters as Red Chinese hats. Funny how that works.

Hey there!

I'm selling a Sony a7II with the 28-70 kit lens. It comes with the original box, strap, and charger plug. I'll also include 3 batteries, a charger, and 2 mount adapters for Minolta and Pentax lenses. I bought the camera ~6 months ago (MSRP $1000) to use with my vintage film lenses, but due to the coronavirus circumstances I need to sell this off.

I'm asking $850 OBO and would ask that you cover the cost of shipping (and insurance).

I'll post some photos of the camera, lens, and extras soon.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Do the adopters support the automatic functions of the lens?

It is difficult to panic after you have been shot at, had a track blown out from under you, and watched many friends die. You just do what you have to do. The only thing we can control is our attitudes. The virus doesn't worry me as much as the present state of our government does.

Try it and see what it does. You can retouch to remove something like a small wrinkle but in Picassa it will take forever. For that type of thing I use Portrait Professional. Picassa is free, you are risking nothing to try it out. Once installed it will go through your computer looking for photos, it does not make a copy of them. After that use one of your photos and play with it, by clicking on it to open the editor and then pushing all the buttons. If you don't like the program after working with it, just delete it. It didn't cost you anything and your pictures are still there.

I like Picasa as a photo management system. You can't download it but you can put a copy of the exe file on a jump drive and install it in her machine. I have installed it that way several times. Picasa will allow you to open other programs while you are looking at a picture. I do this with elements and/or photo shop a lot. I have found Picasa more convenient for moving photos around and managing content.

The usb port used for charging the device can also be used for file transfer. You might want to spend a few bucks to get a case with a keyboard.

I use picasa for photo management but edit in photo shop or light room. I have found Picasa works best for me. You can no longer down load it from Google but you can still install it if someone has a copy. I find other programs awkward to use. It is also easy to move things around , to other files or rename them.

Your problem might be with the program used to bring the pictures into the computer, or the card reader. I use Picassa both as my import program of choice, and file management program (I edit in either photo-shop or elements. Both can be accessed from inside Picassa with a right click over the image and selecting open with). Picassa is a free. Download it from Google. Be sure to get it from Google, not some other site, that will down load things you don't want.
If changing the program used to import pictures doesn't help, consider accessing the photos in a different way. I have had a problem with large cards from some of my cameras , when I use a built in card slot. Either tethering the camera or a new card reader connected to the computer by USB could work.

Some of my computers can not be upgraded to Win 10,others have been. The upgrades were blocked by incompatible displays. Some of the machines here were originally XP and upgraded to win 7 and then win 8. Others were originally Win 8,
Even if the OS is compatible, it is possible that the hardware is not. If you click on a get windows tab on your machine it will normally tell you id your computer is compatible or not.

Before going out to buy a lens , test shoot some jewelry with what you already have. I notice that you are going to shoot against a black background there may be some problems with dust that will show in the photo, but not be obvious when the piece is displayed in the store. I often shoot against a light blue piece of rubber. You can get packs of 8x10 in several colors at most dollar stores. For larger pieces I often use a foam sleeping pad in the same color. The foam sheets and pad do not reflect the light or show the dust as many backgrounds might. You might also want to look into a small tent arrangement to control the light. Because the light you are using can effect the color, you may want to try several shots.

I wonder how the food was. I am always looking for a new place to eat in Delray Beach when I am there.
