No the 18 200 is not a g lens. I am looking at buying or trading my lens in on the 70 200 or 70 300 g lens or possibly the 18 135 g. Or keep it as a back up on the 6000 when I upgrade to the 6500.
Thx for reply

Thx tainkc, appreciate this

if I get the 18 - 105 I would sell the 18 - 200. and replace it with the 70-200 or 300. The 200 is fixed f4 so probably better but I would love the reach of the 300. They say I can get that with the 18- 105 if I shoot in jpeg and do the 2X zoom, and that lens is the best lens for video. Now that being said I do not know what the photo would look like.

I am VERY interested in the 90 Macro although have never had a prime before but think it will be great for portraits and macro.

Using an A6000 but will probably upgrade to the a6500 at some point.

I have loved this lens but am wanting to upgrade to a G lens so must sell it. It is great for street and travel as well as landscapes and wildlife. I have carried it in hand on my a6000 hiking all day in the mountains of the northwest and all over the US, Europe, and Canada without my arm getting tired.

It is in the chrome/silver (not Black) finish. Comes in original box with lens cover, front cap, back cap, manual's, and 2 - 67mm filter's. One Hoya HMC UV, and One Hoya CIR PL, with their boxes.

Paid
893.00 for the lens 8/22/14, and about 100.00 for the two filters. I have the receipt for the lens in hand will have to find the receipts for the filters.

If you have any interest please PM me.

Thanks,

Jamie K

I know this is an old thread but I am looking to upgrade my lens and or body. I currently have an A6000 with the 18-200 lens that I love but feel it is time to progress to the next level. I am debating on the 70 - 200, 70 - 300, 18 -105 and the 90 Macro all Sony G lenses. Hoping to only get 1 possibly 2 so I can continue to save for the 6500. I shoot landscapes, macro, some video, and a lot of travel photography so want to keep the weight down. Also dipping into portraits a bit for friends and family. Appreciate all comments, Thanks

Sorry I am at work so cannot get you that till later.

Not good though. will replace the whole thing since it is an all in one. the screen is grainy so always use my laptop, which I love, A Lenovo pro 2, but definitely want a bigger screen and faster for desktop.

I did a snowmobile tour a couple of January's ago couple of things to remember. Do not strap your backpack to the snowmobile several people in our group did that and had issues later and some even lost their packs on the trail. If you can keep it in your jacket comfortably do it but after a few hours it does begin to rub on you so put padding between you and the camera or wear your pack on the front of you just don't let it hit the tank. driving standing up is the most comfortable bend your knees and let them take the ruts. There are many and watch the corners some are pretty sharp we lost a couple of people on the turns too. The hand warmers go along way in your boots too. If you are carrying Sony they do better in cold than in heat. Have so much fun you are going to love it.

I was there in Late May. Take extra money and things to give away as gifts or goodies to the kids. School supplies games what have you. In Spanish if possible. Food is not cheap 25 -35 cucs(sp) per X that by 1.15 for us rate. Always ask before taking pictures of anyone they will expect you to tip them for the opportunity. Might even chase you down if you don't. Havana is very dirty and crumbling. Trinidad and Cienfuegos are quite nice. Everyone is very kind and willing to help but usually have a hand out at the end of the encounter with them asking for money. IF you do not want to be bothered with it just say you are from Canada and they will leave you alone. Apparently we are more generous than them. The emersion programs are wonderful in the arts, dance, and schooling. Although if you are doing a people to people exchange be aware it is quite political and very canned. Generally they ask you what you want for a meal beef, chicken, fish, and all the sides are pretty much the same. The local drink is the mojito but if you want alcohol in it you have to ask for it as it does not always come automatically. The drink is included in your meal sometimes 1 sometimes 2 or 3. The ice cream is fabulous. The best I have ever had. The hotels are old and pretty rundown. DO NOT flush your paper products and toilet paper.
If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I am perfectly happy with my 6000 and have seriously considered the newer models but will not until they articulate the screen to be viewed from the front of the camera so when doing self portraits or group shots you can see the screen. This cannot be that tough to add as many camera's have this feature. I would love the in body IS as I do shake but my tripod was much cheaper and is not that heavy that I can't carry it to fix that.
