I love this series. Not only did you freeze the frantic action in micro-seconds but you captured the calm demeanor of the horse as he propels his determined rider to her goal.
Thank you for sharing. -Jimmy

Aloha Jimmy and welcome to UHH. Your little princess is very cute and something tells me she really knows it.

Aloha and thank you JoAnne. What an amazing bunch of enthusiasts and admins we have here. I already feel at home.
You are spot-on in your thoughts of my little cutie and trust me, she's well aware of her growing powers.

Welcome to UHH Jimmy, glad you finally joined us. She looks to be a couple of hand fulls, nice post. I also shoot Nikon, the D7100. You should enjoy that D330 and get years of fun out of it. Enjoy the forum.
Don

Thank you Don, I'm glad to be live hogger too.
Naturally I'm biased, but little lady K has one of those faces that exudes her moods so effortlessly making her a delightful subject.
She is all that and a big bag of chips to be sure.
Thanks to the people here on the forum I learn something new about the camera (And Nikon in general) most every time I log in.
For the money, my brand spanky new D3300 seems to have a ton of flexibility and creative control built into it. The Nikon lenses are great to play with also.
If ever I feel the desire to add a top-of-the-heap DX body like yours, I'd trust this one can go along for the ride.
Thanks again for your thoughts. -Jimmy

That is a great shot and welcome. Here is an idea for you, try to get that shot again or as close as you can once a year for her as well as yourself and it will become even more priceless, if that is even possible. Just a thought.

Thank you kindly GeneB. I like your idea of a progressive series! She'll be at a new home for her 4th birthday and it has those wonderful rolling hills of Kentucky bluegrass also. Your comments are always welcome going forward too. -Jimmy :)

Great photo. Details and color are spot on. The flowing cape or whatever it is in the wind there adds to the overall picture.

Thank you ceaceallachain for your kind observations and a special thank you from the capes' seamstress who made four different styles of them for K's special day.

Don't give up on the camera just yet. A corroded battery doesn't necessarily mean the camera has been rendered hopelessly damaged. Clean out the battery compartment, clean the contacts, put in fresh batteries and see what happens. Some people simply like to throw out stuff and buy new, and look for any excuse to do so.

Very good point rook2c4.
In 1980, a customer of mine came in for some batteries for her flash unit. Upon taking care of her purchase, I asked her if she had ever checked or changed the batteries in her Canon SLR. Her reply was "My camera has batteries too?". She had owned it for 4 to 5 years as I recall and the light meter was still functioning. I then politely asked if I could "check" the strength of the cells for her. Upon opening the battery compartment, I found both batts and the contacts covered in corrosion. Needless to say she was mortified, thinking she had ruined her body. I removed the cells and cleaned the compartment with electrical contact cleaner. Installing new Duracells and turning it on brought joy to her face as it functioned fine (like before!).

I'd sure give it some effort before giving up on it.
Hope this helps - Jimmy

Hey Hochspeyer! Is that a praying mantis on my spring or are you just happy to weed me?!? 8-)

Your snaps remind me of my snaps at quiet early morning hours by the corner of 1 Street & I Street in an industrial park near Toledo in the late `70's. I like `em.

Funny thing back then, my Minolta XG-9 SLR came with a Minolta 45mm f2.0 and cost around $1200 as I recall. Go figure.

Thanks for your suggestion for my Relocated Princess but I have to pass, she's all natural and I want to keep her 100% real. Have fun and get some sleep. 8-) -Jimmy

Stunning work Geoff. These images and background history really do foster joy and everything that is good about Winnie and his friends frolicking in their magical places.
I vote you as Artist/Illustrator/Visionary for Mr. Milnes' next series of stories and films. I think he would love the collaboration as well. Outstanding. -Jimmy
