This is a wreath I made a few years ago..........my Father used a twin lens. The film is large format from my days as a school photographer, and the film can is also on the wreath. I now shoot with a digital SLR. Merry Christmas Photographers! (The film roll is under the hedgehog. )

Just stirring the pot a bit! It actually ISN"T my opinion. All major brand cameras are very good at what they do! And I don't consider myself an artist. I'm a technician with very good (NIKON) tools!!
I suggest that you lighten up some! It's good for your blood pressure!

I'm actually cool. Thanks! As you said, they are all tools. And actually equally as good as the other. Just depends on the user.

No true artist would use a Canon camera. NIKON all the way!!!

Whatever! That is your opinion. I stand by my Canon cameras. And I consider myself an Artist. A Photographic Artist.

Amen to that, I’m close to the alligator farm.. and marine land…. Also lots of conservation parks in the area. Lots to work on. If I run out of subjects, I’ll definitely be Jax bound out the alligator farm

I definitely will come to St. Augustine for the Nights of Lights. Christmas is a great time to practice night or long exposure Photography. That requires a tripod and off camera shutter release. My shutter release came from B&H for under 30.00. Be sure to order the one for your camera model. You can go to my topics to see the birds, or long exposures that I have posted. Alot of trial and error over the years...........and just getting out there. But I'm sure you will not have trouble finding things to photograph in your area. Post some when you can.

Thank you very much neighbor, I do just that same thing in these early morning hours as I as plan where to go shoot later in the day. I here up on the west side of Jax so hello and thank you

You are welcome. Lots of areas near our part of the country to get out and photograph waterbirds, and other wildlife. The Alligator Farm in St.Augustine is my favorite place in the Spring and early summer for the nesting waterbirds. And the Jacksonville Zoo is a really good place to practice Photography of animals. But we are surrounded by natural beauty.

I am probably tooooo old to begin my photography journey but I am Robert Bennett, 54 year old retired and bored guy in Palm Coast Fl. I have traveled all over North America doing hunting with my dad. I was disabled in a car crash in 2010, so am now retired/disabled but still bored and have the itch to do SOMETHING. I can't hunt anymore, but still want to capture the majesty of wildlife. I have been watching training videos after videos on my camera and settings, read e-books I have subscribed to and just want to get out and get to clicking! I am sure my photos will not be worthy at first but eventually want to travel to the mid west/yellowstone area and photo some of the HUGE majestic animals!! Nice to meet you all and hope to learn more from your informative posts and critiques.

You are never too old! We can learn new things every day. Just get out there, Google things, and just take the photos. I mentioned Google, because I used to get library books before the internet and I reread those how to books so many times! Now, I just google the instructions or ask on this forum. There are many helpful talented photographers on here. And welcome! (I'm in the Jacksonville area.)
