In Verdun, there is a monument called the Trench of the Bayonets. The french where in a Trench, when a walking Barage burried them, and all that was left was a batch of French Bayonets sticking out of the ground!!! From the film library that we had in
the Company I was stationed with they had Photos of Verdun area
that looked like the craters in the moon. Even in the 60's when you flew over it you would see green pock marked fields. I was
stationed in Maginot Kasern, which was built later.

Rommania got a large part of Hungary, the queen was (English)

I still have a Bessler enlarger, with a tri-color head, (philips)
that goes to 4 X 5. I also have a Chromega 4X5, sadly I no
longer have a darkroom, but it was fun, I think you got a good deal.

World War 1 was the most crazy war, it was a family spat. The Germans, English
crown heads where all related, as was the Russian Czar! It killed millions, I was
stationed in Verdun France, and the Foret duomont memorial, will show
you the amount of French dead, The windows in the cellar are bin s, that are
filled with bones. The Germans suffered just as badly, only to do the same thing
20 years later, and make the world even more of a mess

Having spent 2 years in the service in France, I find their wines and foods excellent, their culture great, their art and museums, superb, the only problem is that about half the populationis either insane, or so into themselves, that they do not need a doctor to check out their Prostate. :-P :?

I used a speed Graphic during my Army tour in France (1962-1964) I also had my own Linhoff $x5 with a 120 back, pluss a
90mm Angulan, a 150 Schneider Symmar, a 210mm Schnieder
Symmar, and a 360 Tele Xenar, I still have them, and for many
years did ad work. The Speed Graphic was great, but,
not as good as the Linhoff for table tops. The Speed Graphic also had 2 shutters, one in between the lens and one Focal plane
shutter. You had to be careful not to use the Focal plane shutter
or you may have a black screen in front of your film, and wind up
with nothing.

Just remember, if our glorious president had done something
about Isis, these people would not be in Hungary. The Hungarians
also don't easily forget 200 years of supression by the Ottomans.
This scene is similar to what happened after World War 2, when
people fled communisem, unless you have been through this,
think about it before venting your anger!!!!!

If you look up the German Population of the Banat, you will find
that they are some that are predominantly Alcesian, Loraine
Germans, who have been in the area since the ouster of the Ottomans, The names of the people in our town of Triebswetter
predominantly had French names, not until the 1800 did they switch to German, as things progressed they all became
bi-lingual, German and Hungarian, some of the elder people
still spoke french, and the dialect of German that they spoke,
contained both German French and Hungarian words.
In Sebu Rommania, The town originaly was Hermanstadt
