I have done many HDR images and I always use the same setup. Manual, mounted on a tripod with a shutter release. I then meter the correct shutter speed, aperature, and ISO. I then manually focus. Move shutter speed to read -2 take picture, move shutter speed to -1, thru to +2. End up with 5 exposures, all with the same focus and depth of field. Seems to work the best for me.

I 2nd that! L glass will make your 7d shine.
I know where you are coming from, once you start it's hard to stop at just 1. I've been big on lens envy (and spending). Bigger, faster, better...just like in sports.

I've gotten a new computer and with it is Windows 7. I can't figure out how to get my photos moved to another folder like I did with Windows 6. Yes I've tried figuring it put on my own and yes I've done some googling. Can anyone give my directions on how to do it. Many thanks if you can.
To create a new folder, right click on the folder that you want the new folder created in, and go to the word NEW and pick FOLDER. You can now rename the new folder by just typing. Now you can drag and drop any files into the new folder.

I have the canon 7d and a 300mm f/4 L lens. Should I add the canon 1.4 extender?
With the Canon 7D you are already at 480mm. Do you want to go to 768mm with 1 less stop of light (5.6)?
