Enjoyed viewing these!
I think that slab of rock is referred to as the "boot".
I think that is a popular "trail" to climb.
I hope to go back, some day.
Pat

Makes sense, Pat, it does have a 'boot' look. Thanks for visiting, and glad you liked them. A return trip is a plan!

You managed to get some excellent shots. El Capitan, framed by greenery and reflected in the river below, is a stunning shot!

Thank you so much, Carol. Would not have found this on my own, but was fortunate to meet someone who had been there before. Appreciate your visit and glad you liked them.

Nice!

Thanks, jaymatt. Appreciate your visit and comment. You may be able to relate...Another tourist looking at El Capitan helped me to locate the climbers with a reference to a '...slab of rock in the shape of the state of Indiana.'

You have to buy into the entire Sony A9 lens system to get the full benefits. Also, there are still image banding and overheating issues. Unless you need the 20 fps for sports/action shots, I would recommend the Panasonic GH5 or the Fuji XT-2.

Update: Recent article indicates the overheating problem has been addressed through firmware....https://petapixel.com/2017/06/09/sony-firmware-update-fixes-a9-heat-warning-star-eater-issue/

A few months ago we happened to recheck availability and found an unexpected cancellation for the first week of July. With no other choice, we grabbed the opportunity. Things went wrong fast. I took a limo to meet my wife in Boston, and left my cell in the limo. After waiting in the airport for a delayed flight, we got up to board the plane and my wife left her purse on the seat. (Both items were retrieved successfully) Arriving at Yosemite, we were told not to move our vehicle for at least three days or we wouldn't have a space anywhere nearby when we returned. Prearranged activities were unable to attend without a vehicle. Plans were tossed and we vacationed on the fly. Yet...we hated to leave after one of best experiences we've had. Sylvia, it's a stunner. Congrats. Looking at your contest link, it'd be tough to overlook the fireworks image, but IMO the waterfall would have been 3rd. Keep pushing...you are closer than you think!

Nice mix of near and scenic perspectives. Any sense of what these buildings/property were used for?
