voter fraud is a problem. The miniscule numbers cited by the left are of voter fraud convictions, but voter fraud is seldom investigated by authorities. Check this video of an NBC affiliate in south Florida who found evidence of 100 non-citizens voting with very little effort.

rodaz, you wrote "The constitution was originally intended to deal with the problems society and ideas of democracy of the 18th century"
I think you have misinterpreted the ideas behind the creation of the Federal Gov. The 13 original colonies (states) banded together originally to created an army to fight the revolutionary war. After the war, the same congress of states realized that they needed an apparatus to govern the interactions of the 13 politically independent states. The States created the Federal Government to provide and administer a finite list of responsibilities including providing for the national defense, these are listed in Article 1 section 8 (Enumerated Powers). The limitations are listed in Article 1 Section 9. The Limitations of the individual States are listed in Article 1 Section 10.
The 10th amendment to the Constitution says "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
I am in favor of a small decentralized Federal Government, that respects the rights of the States. As an example , there is no mention of Education in Art 1 Sec 8. IMHO public education is a function of the States.

Susan, where do you get the idea that the Federal gvt is not supposed to be controlled by one party? During parts of the Bush and Obama presidencies, the US senate and the House were controlled by the party of the President.

The US Constitution outlines very specific areas that the Federal gvt is responsible for, private sector wages are not on that list.
I understand, and agree with your concerns, but solutions must be found at the state and local level.

Another Reason Why the Federal Government Can't Leave All Control With The States...

I disagree strongly with your conclusion that the Feds should override the states. That would give one party (could be repubs), the ability to control this issue in every state. That is one reason that the framers of the U.S. Constitution forbade the Federal Gvt. from getting involved in State issues.

Those on the right are always talking about personal responsibility. When the time comes to take personal responsibility in the form obtaining health insurance well they just go ape shit don't they.

Avoiding personal responsibility is the hallmark of the DNC.

Last I checked the seating was to be 7 to 5 so how is participating in the committee process equal?

It has NEVER been equal. Every house committee in the last 100 years including house select committees have/has more members from the majority party.

"Some people, mostly older people, will not change." What are the chances that you will change? my guess is ZERO.

"They don't believe that a black man has the same rights as a white man",
When you say "They" are you referring to those who will not change? If so then you may be referring to yourself!

"Their reasons for hating the president are that he's black, they're racists and homophobes but will never admit it."
Again, who do you mean by "Their", and they're". It sounds you talking about anyone who disagrees with the current administration's policies, but you label it as hating the person, and it makes you sound like a hater.

I have not read anyone on this site stating that they hate the President because he is black. For you to say it is true without presenting any evidence makes you sound like an closed minded bigot.
I was a democrat most of my life, but the dems have moved so far left I cannot longer support them. Look at the difference between the philosophies of John Kennedy and his brother Ted and you will see what I mean.
I watch ABC, CBS and Fox, and you are correct, they all do not report the same stories. Fox is more likely to report news that puts the dems in a bad light, but if the other networks don't report these stories, h0w does that reflect poorly on the one network that does. Please give me one example of Fox News reporting something "mistakenly"
One aspect of the Democrat Party that I used to admire was their acceptance of diversity and tolerance of those with whom they disagree. You are an example of someone who has lost that noble trait.

Some of these ppl hate Obama so much that anything the president touches is poison to them. They read news sources that only validate their thoughts. That, and patting each other on the back because they're all in agreement, is the only validation they need for their kooky ideas. Reason? No, they'd never listen to that. Since they're on SS, they aren't on the ACA, they've never read it. Instead of thinking positive, their only thoughts are that they positively hate.

Who do you mean by "these people"? The person you quoted sounded very reasonable to me. I think that most things President Obama has done (including ACA) are not in the best interest of the country as a whole, but are done for political reasons, yet I do not hate him. BTW talking about news sources, none other than Hillary Clinton proclaimed that Fox news was the fairest of all the networks with regard to coverage of her primary fight with BHO.

I shot about 150 pics at a high school basketball game. Using Picasa 3, I burned them onto a cd disk. All the pictures transferred ok but they were not in chronological order! I cannot figure out why. Any ideas? thanks in advance. ( BTW only about 10% were of any quality)
