Keep the fence, If it were a new fence I would probably remove it but the old weathered look adds to the picture.

This guy gave me a visit this morning, I'm trying to identify him and the closest I could get is either a Sharp-shinned or a Coopers Hawk. Does anyone have an idea which one it is?

Interesting thread of comments, thanks all. Just to let you all know the boards are 5 3/4 wide.

I'd venture to say Sharp Shinned more so than Coopers, but it gets hard to tell with females & juveniles...I got some images of a juvenile Red Tailed hawk last week...Got to within 20 feet of it & it stayed put (I couldn't get any closer)...How far away were you?

About 70 yards away, I shot it with a canon 7D, 70-200 with a 2X extender.

Thanks for looking and for your comment dickerst, what process did you use?

I used photoshop to adjust the shadow and imagenomic to correct the lost of detail.

These were taken at the bayou in Naples, this morning. I was walking with a tri-colored heron, and caught movement to my left and saw the Osprey landing with a fish, I turned and shot but was looking almost into the morning sun, not as good as I would like, but sometimes you take the shots anyway

You have some great shots there, with a little touch up they come out nice.

Where did you take the photos? Shore or lake?

These are wetland ponds.

Looks like a Willet to me. And the duck in the background looks like a Shoveller. I would be happy to see either any day.

I thought it might be a Willet, but I needed a sanity check. This is one picture, expanded out there are about 50 of them. I have never seen that many in our parts.

Thanks

Central Washington State, at the Yakima River. I thought they were about the size of blackbirds; friend who was with me thought larger. Any ideas? I can't find anything!
Thanks much.

My vote is a Juvenile Brewer's Blackbird
