Good for you. I took my D600 on a trip when I first got the D810 and left the new camera at home. That was a mistake. Just take your new camera out for a spin, I think you'll make the basic adjustment pretty quickly. Have fun!

I keep the RRS bracket on my D810 24/7 and it is worth every penny.

I also change out the Manfrotto from the RC-2 to an Arca Swiss clamp (made by Manfrotto). It's a screw type and works well with a RRS L bracket and other 3rd party plates ....

Thanks for sharing the info and the show! A bit slower would be more pleasing IMHO and I found the zoom effect positive and plan to incorporate it the future.

A digital image without some processing is just 1's and 0's and no more inspiring than an un developed role of film. Art requires effort ....IMHO

There never has been a purposeful photograph that isn't an artists statement on some level. All photographs are the product of the makers experience and world view. If nothing else than the limitation of the capture - what is and what is not shown, when and how was it taken and, of course, how it is presented have impact and send a message. Other than traffic cams, there are no dispassionate windows on the world as some like to pretend. All this "is it a photograph" nonsense is, in my opinion, our insecurity on display. It is little more than compensation of a young and often under appreciated art form that challenged the status quo. Every picture tells a story and that story is as much about us as it is about our subjects.
