How about just typing "Like"?
Edit: Oh, I see. Too much work.

I understand your apparent humor here....it's not so much "Too much work involved", rather there is no easy and quick method of doing such. The Like and Reply features seem to be a very effective, quick method to just let the artist know your feelings, without having to write a comment. Hope this clarifies and thanks for your input......Tommy

I would love to see a method of Like or Reply as we have on Face Book. With this method, one could show how the photo affected them, more so in a quick positive method, eliminating the obligatory comments from and to the artist. Of course, one could always reply with comments, which could open up further discussion, as we have now. I would like very much to send my quick Like without the need for a comment. I know the thumbs up works but it involves too many steps. Thanks for listening.......Tommy.

No, using the in camera noise reduction does not change the file to a JPEG. Just like selecting color balance does not change the file to a JPEG.

What you need to do is your own testing to form your own conclusion. Those two photos that I posted were hand held, not easy for me at that distance (over 400 feet). I should have set the camera on a tripod to be sure that there was no movement and the same focus/composition on both images.

Do you shoot in RAW? Or are you refering to noise reduction when you shoot in RAW? Or are you referring to using noise reduction when you shoot in jpeg? I am certain but could be wrong that NR does not apply to a RAW file for your 7100. Thanks for your original post as it has sparked some nice conversation here-:)

When you do the noise reduction in the camera doesn't it turn a raw image into a jpeg? I have never used these features in camera myself; any examples I have ever seen, the noise reduction is much better done in the raw file in software on the computer. A I missing something here. I don't really see much change in the two photos. The first one has a little less noise but has lost sharpness than the second one, but a much better job can be done in lightroom.

I don't see where anyone so far (except this reference).......when you work in RAW, many settings do nor apply if you shoot in RAW......noise reduction is one of them. Suggestion: search "suggested settings for your particular camera". You will find that many of the built in settings that you have will not apply when shooting in RAW.

I spend much of my time with the camera on a copy stand, and don't want the carrying strap getting in the way. Any advice on a good strap that a releases quickly?

Thanks

A wonderful image!!!!!
I would like to see it in B&W , I think it would have more impact, but then Thats me.

This pic was shot in color, processed in Lightroom then on over to On 1Photo 10 with a B&W preset. Then used the brush to Paint Out the B&W to reveal color in spots where color was needed. Then adjusted opacity to reveal a soft color. If you look carefully, most of the pic is in B&W. Thanks.
