Good luck, I hope things go well for you, Thank you for your serice.
From another old vet, It makes me sad to think of how proud I was to serve my country and how we were made to feel ashamed our service when we came home. At least today our troops are treated better by the public, thanks in part to verterns groups.
And I will choke up again when they play taps at the cemetery on Memorial day.

I know, taps is so emotional. It chokes me up when at funerals.
Thank you for your service and welcome home brother.

All Great Comments from a lot of VETS. Does anybody know of a Vet Site like this UHH. I am a Volunteer ( with 32+ years Active) at the local VA Clinic. I work with AODA and PTSD. Iv'e been their. If OUR Group has not started a program, we NEED TOO. I do not understand this computer age, but I'll bet some of you guys with PTSD, and Alcohol Problems Do! We all know who we are, come up with an idea and then lets share. I am waiting for some Good Pic's and please let us know how you are doing, we are all listening.

I joined this Veterans website last year. It is mainly a sales org as they are selling hats etc. All kinds of military stuff. However it is also a finders website. They have 1.4 million members who have gone there looking for their buddies they served with, I like them and think they are doing a service for Vets.
Their URL is http://www.vetfriends.com/
Keep in mind you will get 5 or more emails a day trying to sell you something, I live with it for the service they do.
One thing they helped me with is I found that once I had a disease that was related to Agent Orange and I found a website through them that explained the disease. I'm over that now so I guess I don't need to do anything more. I would probably have more cause to be concerned about asbestos, as in the Navy practically the whole ship is covered with asbestos.
Wow, get me talkin and I have a problem shuttin up!
I hope that URL helps you. It did me.

I have not previously commented here, mostly absorb insight from reading the posts, but felt I should this time. I was a bit too young to be involved in any of that but I grew up seeing it all play out on TV and having relatives go off to fight. Nobody should be embarrassed at their service. You whet when called and did what was asked of you. If you were sent into the heat of the fighting, you would no doubt have gone. A country can't ask any more than that. Thanks for answering the call.

Also, no idea where you are relocating to, but keep in mind that with proper gear (not expensive) it may be easy to locate an open wifi connection that you can use to access the web at decent speeds. Perhaps there will be a neighbor there that would allow you access to theirs if you ask. Often lots of options. Best of luck to you!

I've already thanked you for your 1st post. It really sent me in the right directions. I have a WiFi site in my back yard. It is really no farther than the 50 yd line on a football field. I have all the equipment too. I had a roommate who was my Tech and he passed away last Sept. He had a wireless connection on his PC connected to mine.
I will have to check with the suggestions I have already gotten from HOGS today. I need someone to come and help me set it up. I looked in my PC to find the files needed to set it up and I don't...... Hey what the hell, I'll use his PC to connect to the WiFI. The equipment is already installed in it. I thank y'all for all the help you've given me. If I can get his PC connected I can just drop Time Warner.

I see MisterWilson gave you some good advice as well as many others offering support. Here's my two cents. Contact the nearest VA Center, American Legion and/or VFW to see if they have support teams offering assistance. If nothing else, they may have info to get you started in the right direction.
They may even be able to help with transportation if that is needed.

thank you for your post. Yes, Mr Wilson gave me some good sites to go to and thank you for your suggestions.

Wow! Thank you for your first post. And the idea of wifi. Corpus Christi told us last year that they were opening a wifi site all across CC. I'm gonna look into it right away.

Wish you well. Didn't do Viet Nam - left the Navy after 10 years in 1964 (Navy made the mistake of giving me recruiting duty and I saw what a normal family life was like) and you guys had/have my admiration.

I'm glad you didn't have to go through that. But thank you for your service anyway. We are all brothers.
Thank you for your kind post.

You are right MisterWilson. I did not choose to go to Nam. As a mater of fact, I still have a slight grudge against the one who sent me. Actually, I'm glad I went, but would not want to go again.

Thank you.
When I got home I wasn't met by all the hatred that every other Vet met back then. The effects of what they went through made me understand what I missed back then.
I joined VetFriends looking for a buddy and all the emotions hit hard since I was seeing it all over again. I did get through it with a buddy's help.
