Hi I always get great answers from this site so here I go again, I am looking for a lens that won't put me in the poor house , but is good quality sharp images , have looked at sigma 140-400 OS and nikon 80-400 VR but I am open to info on what some of you wildlife & landscape photographers out there have experience with, I am sure that there are some that started as I am without the bank roll in my pocket lol. Thanks for any input! Take care!

I would have to agree with you the Optech brand is a very good Quality as well and no srew in here which for me makes me more comfortable in knowing less chance of my camera falling ! CJ

It's not so much the cost/quality of the strap, but rather finding a strap that you like. There are so many options. So far I have tried the top name ones and didn't like them, except for Optech brand straps. I find the comfortable, and versatile. Their customer service has been good for me, as well. http://optechusa.com/

My thoughts exactly I don't want photoshop just lightroom so why pay every month buy once and that is that, CJ

Only problem with the Cloud plan is they are pushing hard.

My first reaction to being pushed is to do the opposite. :-}

That and I do not like monthly charges. I would rather pay once and let me decide on when to Upgrade.

I was told You can upgrade from Lightroom 4 from Adobe as I posed the question and there reply was yes.
MtnMan wrote:
I downloaded it from Adobe. It was hard to figure out because they really want to sell you the Cloud contract. You need to click to buy the download version. And then click on the version word, which is poorly hi lighted, to get the upgrade. You need to tell it what version you have. I doubt you can upgrade from 4.

Just purchased a new Nikon 7200. I have been a canon person for years my last SLR Canon was purchased in 1990 and required film. Needless to say I don't want to go back to that. After much consideration and researching I purchase the Nikon. I hope I have made the right choice, I have two wonderful grandkids to photograph now!!

I agree 610 and d7000 is my gear but glass is the key!

Good specs, but I'd go with Nikon. I don't care about Wi-Fi or touch-screen, but I would like GPS and in-camera panorama.

I'm satisfied with my D610 and D7100.

I do not think you would put the lens and camera on this and leave it unattended, If You are with it and ready to shoot I think it is a great idea! Take care! CJ

Yes, it could be.
Looks like no one here has actually tried it.

It does look a little dangerous.

Has anyone here used the lense-on stabilizer system
on their tri-pod?

I just bought a Tamron 150-600mm Lens.
I'm thinking this could be helpful, but not sure.
It's only $100. It's a small table with a bean bag
on it that you attached to your tri pod so you can
rest your camera on when you need it verses
Mounting it directly to the tri-pod.

Maybe it's just redundancy that isn't helpful.

You can only use one lens at a time, but if you play your cards right, there will be a great many different times & different circumstances that require different camera bodies & different lenses. Bab

My Thoughts as well ,currently 5 lenses & 2 bodies (d7000 with 17-50 sigma up 4 sale) and my d610 along with 28 mm 85 mm sigma 70-200 & last a (sigma 28-90 mcro also up 4 sale). I believe if you have the range you need in a good lens why be a pack rat . CJ , no offence but you only can use one lens at a time. uote=jerryc41]My son and I have a total of eight lenses between us. I don't hesitate to sell a lens when I get something better, or find that I don't need it. I've sold more lenses than I currently have.[/quote]

I own a few Sigma lenses the glass is generally very good with the crop factor you will get extra reach , with a multiplier you will get more but it may soften the image some . Its what the image is to you if you like it that is all that is important, and until you can put more money into glass go for it the more you shoot the better you get. CJ. Take care!

I recently purchased a D7100 with the 2 standard kit lenses....namely the 18 -140 and the 55 - 300. In addition I have an older D6006 lens...it was my primary lens. This lens is a Sigma 28-300 mm1:3.5-6.3D autofocus and aperture ring with lock.
Question: I was told the autofocus is compatible with the D7100 and that it also has a 1.5 multiplier which makes it a 42 - 450mm lens. Other than this what else should I expect when using this lens on the D7100.
Note. I think I will like the multiplier in shooting nature as it saves me from buying another telephoto
Thanks for all the input
