I've never seen them mentioned here, but Vivitar markets a line of camera batteries, including for Canon and Nikon. I have a pair for my 70D and have not seen any difference between them and Canon brand. Amazon carries them for $28 for two, including a travel charger.
Anything you get, make sure the chip is compatible so that the camera will correctly report the battery's charge level.
Living in the heart of the Sierras, I've seen a lot of cars "parked backwards in a snowbank"; even 4WD Hummers. Ruins a whole day of skiing.
Your traction is only as good as your tires.
Thanks for the compliment.

I was lucky enough to be in London in September of 2014, but none of my pictures are as wonderful as this one. Thanks for sharing!

That's a beautiful tribute and well photographed.
Thanks. 100 yr commemoration; one poppy for each life lost in WW1 by the Commonwealth. This is only half of it!
On Veterans Day, a look at London's WW1 memorial

How about 100 Trillion dollars? In one bill? Prior to 2009, the African country Zimbabwe, due to extreme inflation, issued currency denominated to 100 Trillion dollars. Cheaper than toilet tissue!
Talk about "Not worth the paper it's printed on."!
In 2009 Zimbabwe made the US$ the official currency.
Good decision? :-D
If you are using an older version of MSO you will hardly notice the difference with Open Office (Apache Open Office). Libre Open Office is the same as Apache but slightly ahead in bug fixes. I use both and dont notice any difference. Both interfaces feel like an older version of MSO.
Check out the history of Open Office on Wikipedia.

I'm a big fan of Lightroom but having a problem reading the panels within the program. Is there a way to increase the font size in the instruction panels? I've looked thru the archives and can't find this subject being brought up before.
Go to Edit|Preferences... (PC) select the interface tab. There you will find a font size selector. It requires a restart of LR to take effect. Be careful, it increases the size of everything in all the panels.

Who won Gold and Silver?
Lets not forget it is a DESIGN award. Has nothing to do with functionality. That said, the Canon lens at least beat out the Ryobi lawnmower!

Simple: Whichever human pushed the button owns the copyright.
Difficult: Controlling that right.
After visiting Provance this fall I now know why the great painters loved the area. This photo does not do justice to the quality of the light.
It is just ... comforting. So clear.
Twice now on Holland America cruises we have met elderly ladies who effectively live on cruise ships. Think about it: For approx $4,000 per month you get room, housekeeping, all meals, entertainment, assistance, emergency medical services, etc. Not a bad deal. AND you have a whole new group of friends every week!
By the way, Holland America, Princess, Carnival, Costa, P&O, Cunard, Seabourn, Aida and Fathom are all owned by Carnival Corp.
