I own at 50mm/1.4 and a D70. I have had great success with this combination. AND the combo is small enough to walk around with...and is not as noticable...when trying to photograph candid images. Yes, you have to "move" to get the shot, it's not a zoom lens, but it does produce some fine images even at low light!
