He's really quite sweet. I think on this particular visit, he copped an attitude for some reason!
No,just a volunteer. Can't really handle the field work anymore, but do what I can to help out "in the store", so to speak! In addition to our two little friends in the photos, we also have a couple of barn owls, a kestrel, and a red-tail hawk, and the population is growing.
Thanks, suejay! That's a little screech owl. These guys are from our local raptor conservancy and refuge. This tiny fella had a run-in with a city bus, and is a permanent member of our "travelling show" which goes to schools and various organizations, explaining the beauty and importance of raptors in our lives.
A few more of my "best shots"...
My contribution for today's challenge. Hope you like them.
Glad you liked my submissions. Here are a few more to whet your appetite.
My favorite subjects! Here are just a few of my favorites!
This is an excellent shot of a grizzled master of the Zambian bush. That magnificent face bears the scars of many battles, and the bared teeth complete the picture of this king of predators stating his dominance. Kudos for an excellent capture!
I love shooting ferns, and since they are very green, I thought I would use them as my St. Patrick's Day contributiomn.
