Besides being "The Festive Season" for most, it is also a time of sadness for many. To counter that, today's challenge involves the posting of photographs of "HAPPY STRANGERS." Adults that are laughing, smiling, generally cheerful or, as evidenced by my avatar, recently lobotomized. People who at the time you snapped them you were not acquainted with. Perhaps in a parade, a sporting event, at a concert, on the beach, in the background etc. etc. etc. Main purpose is to elicit a smile from all and sundry. Cheers! Modest.

Och Aye the Noo........Just remember to go easy on the Lemonade or Ginger beer...... Considered much more elegant if served in a thin glass rather than a dimpled pint pot with a handle............Silver tankard is fine too.....

Och! Mae wee hen.......Haggis is fine with tatties and neeps, a wee dram (or a pint of Drambuie shandy) all washed down with a skirl-o-pipes.....

so glad you dinna forgit the haggis (not that I would eat it) lol Hogmanay is our big holiday in Scotland or was I should say, you went door to door with your bottle stayed if there was a party, then moved on to the next one, the host of the home gave you a drink to toast the new year and you gave them one from your bottle, never went into someone's house New Year's day without something in your hand, silver coin for wealth, piece of coal for warmth, and the drink to wish you good health in the coming year. My Mum wouldn't let neither my sister or me into the house first because we had red hair, had to get the neighbour up the road to come down and first foot her. Must have the house cleaned papered and painted for the New Year, still keep up the tradition here at least about the house, then play my Scottish videos showing the different parties lol just a wee bit of the history of Hogmanay
Found another pattern.. My mother designed and sewed this about 1930. Silk still as vibrant as though it were made this morning but sadly, the linen has irremovable water stains.

Shadows, tartans, gingham, stars and stripes. One of the joys of UHH is re-examining pictures. I had not noticed the flag behind the window before. The ensign is actually the Union Jack. Without the white border it is the Union Flag. Not a lotta people know the difference but now UHH members do. Cheers!

Anybody else noted the synchronicity between todays subject, "Steel and Glass" and the fact that New York has just had its first day ever, that's EVER, without a single Murder, Stabbing or Violent Assault being reported. Am I subscribing too much to the power of UHH to influence the furtherance of "Peace in our time?".....
