These were fun. Thank you. The NM shots bring back memories of the at least once-a-year trips Fort Worth to Roswell — long before interstates.
Thanks again.

There was a time when interstates did not exist? I'm sure that was a mixed blessing! That sounds like a long drive between Fort Worth and Roswell, one I think I'll skip.

I never thought that I would retire and start taking road trips, but here I am doing just that. I think the smaller roads are what will make the trips possible. Thanks for looking.

Nice!!! Love the flowers!! Always love seeing Violet! I like #2 and #4!! #9 looks like the area of Texas where I grew up.

I hope you had a great trip.

No wonder you left and never returned! Yes, Violet is a huge draw; she's just such a neat dog, and so well trained. She said she misses hiking with me in NM. I feel sorry for her there.

This trip seemed a little easier, probably because I spent less time in Florida. There's a tricky balance between being supportive and being in the way. It's good for me to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. I'll never like crowded beaches though.

I won't go there! But I can sympathize with some of the difficulties you have had to deal with. I turned 70 last month, it feels way too soon!

The sympathy is worth a lot. I don't really feel old though.

Nice set. Like NMGAL, the flowers & kitty I like best.

Me too. Of course I'm partial to the kitty. Thanks for looking.

That’s a great set. Your phone takes pretty good photos. You might want to also post those in the Smartphone Photography section as there are no doubt some who only visit that section.

Thanks for the tip, and for looking. For a refurbished replacement phone it's been a nice surprise.

Good post! Happy birthday! Do I dare ask?

I'm glad you liked these. Not my usual but when in Rome, etc...

What is your question? Are you asking how old I am? I will assume that's it. I turned 67. Is that about what you figured?

Second Mangrove shot got me homesick looking across Tampa bay .... GREAT point of views... I kept looking UP then ACROSS and then UP again. Small barnacled pier and reflection is another REALLY nice capture; my fav. artistic wise. Great set .

Thanks. You liked the pier shot more than the westTexas rest area? Ha. Believe me I was thrilled to find that view after stumbling stiffly out of my car in the morning. I find the mangroves interesting; I am not a fan of the crowded beaches along the Gulf no matter how lovely the sand is. You can barely SEE the sand for all the bodies and beach paraphernalia anyway.

Thank you for looking and commenting.

Very enjoyable series and storytelling! Your ability to make interesting compositions seems natural and effortless.

That's a nice compliment and I guess you're right about the composition part. I am drawn less by subjects and more by the way things work together and I've always been that way; it may be my one natural talent.

Ha. It wasn't so much an apology as a way to get folks to take a peek at my post. I realize I could have posted in the Smartphone section but it doesn't have as many viewers. I'm glad you liked the set.

Violet, the flowers and the kitty are winners. Glad you made it back safely and presumably had a good time.

Thanks. I'm getting better at making the most of it, but I still go into panic mode around too many people (more than three). Taking the back roads definitely had greater appeal.
