Great shots Regis. I was thinking about this lens and after seeing these I think I will take the plunge.

Interesting Anhinga sequence from this morning. Speared the fish, flipped it up in the air, caught it, starts it down the hatch, and swallows. I wish these could have been in more tack sharp focus but this was shot at a considerable distance at 400mm and then highly cropped. Certainly not a good job technically, but undeniably an interesting sequence observing nature!

Great sequence.

Unless you have huge strap mounts, you probably have something on the mount to which you attach the carabiner. What do you use? I've seen people use split rings, but I prefer something more stable like OpTech Adapt-its (for my SX1) or Utility Loops (for my G3). I'm still working on quick change adapters for the film cameras (a Nikon and two Minoltas). I keep the TLR on a BR adapted Manfrotto QR plate.

I have a Sony A77 and the carabiner fits perfectly on the strap mount.

Here is another issue that I would like to bring up. I have the Nikon D7000 and on it I have a 18-300 mm Nikkor lens and a battery grip on the body as well. Needless to say, this is not something you just hang around your neck easily. I have a ThinkTank Streetwalker backpack that I use for my equipment, but thought that I would purchase a BlackRapid RS4 strap to use when I wanted the camera out and ready to use. My issue with this is, I now cannot just use the tripod quick release plate anymore because my strap attaches to where the tripod plate attaches. I have done some research online via YouTube and I know that there are plates you can add on to the bottom of the camera, but is there anything else that can be done? Anyone have any creative solutions? Thanks!!
Here is another issue that I would like to bring u... (show quote)

I don't use the tripod mount. I just slip the carabiner through the left hand side strap mounting point.

I found this old 1936 Packard in the woods on a dirt road near Lake Champlain,Vermont. It appears to have been there for decades. The metal, where there was any, was often paper thin. Still, the glory of the crisp, classic style that was embodied in their cars came through.

So sad. Those cars had some real style. Post some more pics if you have them.

Did you get much damage at your place. Power out at your place.
We still have no power out at work. I have been at work pretty much none stop since the power went out last sunday, trying to get the over head hydro lines cleaned up, tree removal to get hydro back in to power them up, filling the large back-up generators with diesel. Put in over 2000 litres in with six 20 litre can at a time. Can't get a fuel truck in.

Thats a lot of handbombing fuel. We only lost power sometime Saturday night for about 40 minutes. One of the guys at work liver sin North West Georgetown and they only got power back Thursday night (26th).

Hey Glen. Just looking through some of your old posts. Macro photography looks so interesting maybe something I might try. As we now know your Wooly Bear is a damn lousy weather man lol.

From another Canuck around the corner from you.
I took a shot of an apple tree yesterday with a bunch of apples still on it all encased in ice. will post it soon.

Thanks Glen. For my work I drive down HWY 50 from Alliston to Brampton so I pass through Bolton every day. It is amazing how beautiful the ice looks on everything when the sun is out. I look forward to seeing your apples. :D
