Re; your efforts to send your pics... I have the identical issues. Sometimes they send, sometimes they don't. The text message always gets through. Don't know why...

Yes, Gil. I am surrounded by national forest and it teems with wildlife. I have 934 pics of elk, all taken from my livingroom wndow. Most mornings find me hiking the mountains with camera in hand, hoping to catch an unsuspecting critter in the lens... BTW, it is 47 miles to town for me, there are only 9 homes in my hamlet, and a dozen neighbors. A little crowded, but suits me just fine... Micco was an awesome place to live with both rivers having easy access and good fishing. 30 lb. redfish often were in Sebastian Inlet in the early mornings and, on an 8 weight flyrod, one could easily get worn out...I also lived in the Keys for 12 years and started a big-game/off-shore fishing charter company. What fun! Regret selling the business but it is wonderful living out here, too...Good photo-ing to you... Gene

I was forced to retire at age 46 due to an injury on the job. It was a blessing and I don't know how I found time to go to work. My job was very stressful (I was a cop in a big city) and I took up woodworking as a hobby, concentrating mostly on Queen Anne style furniture. Of course, fishing has always been my passion, too. I now turn bowls on a lathe and sell them in local galleries. I fish whenever possible, travel extensively, and now find great excitement in photography. The best advice I can give to anyone who must retire is to stay busy, never slow down, and do what you want most to do. It's kept me young, energetic, and busy.

Gilbert, these photos make me homesick! I lived south of there, where the Sebastian River meets the Indian, a little place called Micco. Moved 6 years ago to the wilderness of SW Oregon. Still miss Florida.. Thanks for the great pics...

Recently, there was a thread about butts. This pic has no butts. However, as I turned away from the grizzly bear, I saw a dozen butts and twice as many 'bows (elbows), all running for their cars. Only my brave daughter and I stood our ground. Or, was it my foolish daughter and I???? It took me years to get a good pic of a griz. It was taken by my daughter with a point-and-shoot camera...

Janice, I've had issues with computers since they were invented (sic). In the mid-1960's. I repaired puters for the military. A PC, at that time would have filled a two car garage. We had an incident where the computer solved the problem (a simplistic description), but not as it was programmed to do. It chose its own method of operating. My dauhgter's godfather was an engineer on the project and he could not explain it or solve it. So, modern PC's and their issues do not surprise me, they just frustrate me... I have thousands of pics onmy PC and am constantly deleting some and saving others to discs.. Thanks for the advice. I'll submit some pics from my trip whenever possible...

Hi Janice... Thank you for the nice compliments... My sister has looked at the site and likes it. She is extrememly busy with the several camera clubs she belongs to and is president of two of them. I'll continue to encourage her to get involved on here... We will be on the road for the next four weeks photographing as much a spossible. We may end up in Yellowstone again, who knows... We will definitely get to Yosemite, Alabama Hills, Bodie Ghost town, etc... So, my submissions to the site will be fewer for a month or so... Gene
