Thanks Earl. glad you liked it.

Thanks Anne. I could have done it, but the picture is nothing to write home about, so I wasn't prepared to spend the time on it. You did a good job, by the way (better than I could). Earl.

Hi DOOK, Great photo. Hope you don't mind but I had a go removing the ropes for you.

He was sitting on a fishing boat just before dusk on a dull, bleak day. I was thinking of having a go at removing the ropes, but I chickened out. Please feel free to download.

Hi, The difference between Dragonflies and Damselflies is that the Damselflies fold their wings back and Dragonflies don't.

Thank you all who replied. I now know that the black dragon fly is a Ebony Jewelwing Damselfly. REJ

A lot of rivalry between Jersey and Guernsey, especially around Liberation day in May when the Murrati is held, (Soccer game), between Jersy Crapauds, (a Toad) and Guernsey Donkeys.

I used to swim from the slip to the end of the pier and back, my Dad had a boat in the harbour and we used to fish for Mackerel, Whiting and Snipe. At low tide we would get Sand Eels, which I believe are rare now and it the harbour there was an area called The Banks where we would collect Cockles and Razorfish, too polluted now with all the boats, just very smelly mud. My Great Great Grandfather used to sail out of there to Newfoundland to the Grand Banks, Cod fishing.

Have just looked up online exactly where it is, it used to be owned by Mrs. Lamb, I'm 59 so it was a long time ago, and Vine House was where my Dad was born and my Great Great Grandparents bought the house, we lived a couple of doors down, towards the castle, at South View. I still get very homesick when I see photos.

Gorey Pier, looked out of my bedroom window at the harbour and castle. All my relatives still there.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, what part of the island did you live?. We were babysitting our nieces kids while they were away, so didn't get around a lot this time, but I will post a few more as and when.
Thanks a lot for your feedback swallowtail, most welcome,

Geoff

Hi, Wonderful image, made me very homesick. I was born and brought up there, still miss it and I've lived in Aus. for 27 years.

Thank you, I'll look them up. I don't wamt to edit the EXIF data but would sometimes like to see what settings were used. Just another way of learning.

Psergel wrote:
If you right click in the file and chose "properties" then "detail" you can see some of the EXIF data.
There are many EXIF viewers/editors out there for free. One is PhotoMe another is exif tool. Best accessed via exiftoolgui.
Why anyone would edit the exif data is something of a mystery to me.

Late afternoon & overcast (it was starting to sprinkle). Downloading should give them a little detail.

Just make sure it is the original and not a used one, you need a usable licence key, Also have a look on Amazon. If you are not in a hurry I would wait for 13 to get all the latest updates. just my opinion.
