Yes, but it comes with something different than what I have done. If you look at the last picture you will see I used their rubber thing and then the tripod plate. Never have to undo anything to put it on the tripod.:)

Hell.....I might have to get one purely out'a appearance lust!! It is really nice looking. Erv, if I get that strap, then all I need is a Continental Kit for the rear
Bumper. Whatayathink? I think Harvey has a spare bumper!!

You remind me of some friends who used to go Coyote hunting near Carson City ,Nevada - they used a recorded call of an injured rabbit - they were in a blind and had called for about 45 mi when the caught some movement a little to their left - they had called in a mountain lion.

Harvey, that Erv is one hell of a hunter, now!! He blew that crow call, and within 3 minutes, his yard looked like that Alfred Hitchcock movie!!

If I can remember right. Almost all the cameras back then came with a leather case, or you could get one for them. And they were all well made. And I have round leather cases for some of my old lenses too.If you would get one you would fall in love with how it feels and makes the camera seem lighter.:):) I will never not have one now.:):) My calls all have leather straps that go around my neck.:):) Well except for the fox call, it is a wind up 45 record player.:):)

Does that hand strap require usage of a plate on the bottom, Erv?

This is the seller I got the hand strap from. I might order the brown one.:):) He didn't have that color before. Really make the Nikon look good.:):)

That is a great looking hand strap.......really kind'a nostalgically classy looking. I remember when I was a kid, the guy next door was a photographer and always had his impecably machined stainless steel camera bodies cloaked in the most gorgeous, hand sewn brown leather form fitting covers. The cameras and straps and covers were the most beautifully made possessions a guy could own at the time. And the accessory lenses and external light meters were similarly clad in matching felt lined form fitting leather cases. The various brown leather cases were always buffed to a high luster.......... I used to think his photographic gear was like jewelry for guys!! Don't recall the camera makes.......wish I could. I just recall him telling me that his lens cost as much as a new car!!

Accordingly, I really love that damn hand strap. Unfortunately, I don't use hand straps. But, if I did, I'd buy it in a flip!! Might even put one on Erv's crow call!!

I appoligize for going a little off topic, but, Have we actually seen damage caused by straps using the tripod mount? I have asked this in posts before and searched UHH and have not found any actual evidence of damage caused other than the screw coming loose which is more attributable to the Photographer not checking that the connector is tight than the strap mount itself failing or causing damage to the camera. I do know the early screw in connectors came loose easier than they do now because most new ones have a rubber washer which holds the screw tight like a lock washer. I have not seen any evidence where damage is caused to the bottom of the camera where the screw mount is. I am interested to hear of any because I use a strap that connects this way.

Nikonshooter (Ed) showed us his new setup for a camera strap. So I thought it would be cool to see what everyone else was using and not jump in on his thread.:):) I have the camera strap around my neck all the time. But when I am shooting it gets in the way. So this is my setup. Unclips easy and I have a hand strap that I use to hold the camera. Works great for me.:)

Erv!! That isn't an athletic supporter, is it?

Trust me - this setup of 3 cameras will not happen - well often anyhow - :)
Now I see why you often see pros with several cameras hanging from them.

Harvey, you were starting to look like a Christmas tree!!!

This is not the one I referred to earlier, but it is on point.

I have a feeling that the one I referred to earlier has been taken down.

Not long ago, someone posted pics on this sight of a camera that had its tripod lug and bottom torn off after it failed from being suspended from the tripod lug. I have gone back to look for that post several times in recent months and I could not locate it. There is another fairly frequent poster on this sight who works as a professional wild life photographers guide who claims to have witnessed such damage with a reasonable degree of frequency.

It was those pics that dissuaded me from using that type of strap again. Maybe someone else can locate them and repost. It was ugly, tho. Convincing enough so that I no longer use any strap that requires suspension from the tripod socket.

Over the years , I think I have tried or owned nearly all of them. Finally tried the BosStrap...........went with it and have been totally happy since. It is simple, straight forward, comfortable, secure, functional and reasonably priced. Attaches to the camera lug rather than the tripod socket. Wish I would have tried BosStrap first.
