Hi,

Sorry for posting so late, I've been singing The Working Man's Blues as of late.

When I was a pre-amateur I was convinced that backlight came from my backside and frontlight came from the front. Finally I was brought to order.

Basically it is this, using sunlight at a low angle to light up petals and leaves and such. It can also be very successfully used in portraits.

So here we go, have fun

Wow, what nice pictures everyone! I will add one for right now.

Been enjoying the pictures again today and marveling at how much all you UHHers get done in a day. I had one little project that needed to get done today and it still has parts undone! But I don't want this day to go by without posting something. I will admit that I was not taking pictures of the sky. It just happened to be there!!

I was taking advice from UHHers about just keep trying for BIF and I finally got a semi decent one so I will post it--sky and bird! The other bird ones are not so great, but the sky is pretty blue!

Then a few shots of people preforming under the big blue sky! The shot of the boat was not at his peak stand because you can't control other people's kids. Just as the boat started to stand all the way up the child next to me decided to come and look at my lens! Oh well, I got one shot.

I am watching you but I will not fly for you!

The flame has been a human fascination to view.

Nice progression of the fire. I think I should go find fixings for a S'more!

This little lady has decided to lay her eggs just at the entrance to my vegetable garden, I don't think I even have enough room to get the tiller through the gate.

Killdeers leave the nest so fast, it was nice to see you catch her just getting off her nest. Good luck with all that hand weeding this year!!

Went into our local cemetery today and saw this very old looking Angel standing guard over one of the graves.

I am thinking of all the things this Angel could tell us if she could talk. Many years of stories.

Clicker that reminds me of story. I will try to keep it short. A guy gets on a plane and sits next to a young lady. He asked question and she ignores him. Finally he says "it is said that a conversation make the flight go faster." and she remarked "OK we can talk if you can answer me this question. Why is it when cows poop it is in blobs, horse in clumps and sheep in pellets they all eat the same grass"? He said "I don't know". And she responded "How are we going to have an intelligent conversation if you don't know S_ _t".

Have mostly missed a terrific challenge. :( In reviewing my shots, I realized, I tend to shoot "connections" of various kinds and I "see" things that many would consider proof I need prozac or something!

I love all the connections in the Animal Crackers. It gave me a good chuckle which I can really use these days.

Been trying hard here as I find it a difficult, but fun Challenge simply because my pretties aren't yours and as a matter of fact I can find ''pretty'' in a manure spreader. I call mine ''Simple Pretty'' except for the track which is under ''Memories of Pretty''

I found this challenge difficult too. Your pretties are pictures I enjoy. Keep them coming. I have been enjoying all the pictures or should I say art.

I have been looking at all the gorgeous posting of art here feeling like it was over my head. But I decided to try my hand.

This week flew by again with very little camera time. Today I went to a ski show. I decided to try to get some action shots. Boy do I need to work on those settings more!

Constantly changing lifts

Syncronized four at a time

Three over jump all doing a different one

Can you see the two barefoot skiers under the spray?

I got a better zoom, but I probably should not handhold it.
